Memory (RAM) REAL Compression (like ZIP) Utility.

IBM came up with a RAM compression format several years ago, called Memory Expansion Technology (MXT). It has since been abandoned. It is still possible, though, to order it in the server market. However, since the cost of memory has gone down so much -- since MXT was first conceived -- it is no longer cost-effective. There are also several articles, across the net, on C-RAM (compressed RAM).

As a side note, if you're interested, IBM has also developed a technology for RAM RAID. It's pretty much just like Hard drive RAID, only with main memory. They also have a technology, called Chipkill, that is about 1,000 - 10,000 times more powerful than ECC. You might also try looking into solid state disks (even those made from RAM, i.e. i-RAM, Hyperdrive III, Rocket Drive, etc.) and compressing those, since they emulate harddrives. Or, just make a RAMDisk yourself, using your extra memory, and compress that, again just like it was a normal hard drive.
