Which Language is best for asp.net?

Well, I would think PHP is easier... I just dont know why it took me real fats to learn PHP but up till now, I havent even been able to learn ASP.net. Anyway PHP also has support for lots of extensions like GD and stuff.. You can see more @ www.php.net.

ASP.NET is the .NET varient of Microsofts server-side scripting languge (ASP = active server pages) correct? which is its own languge and VB, C#, C++ have nothing to do with ASP? (bar the fact there all MS languges).

this is my understanding of the languages

PHP & ASP are server-side scripting languges to create websites

javascript + some VB is client-side scripting for websides

java is a client side language for allsorts of stuff which need to be compiled

C++, C#, VB are languges that are compiled and are generaly independent of other programs on the windows OS

am i right here or not?
