First of all this is a nice looking Vs you have done here..you have done a great job...eager to try it !

Thank's a lot

I havent try it yet since Im not in my computer..but Im guessing this pack doesnt include/replace the dlls to change other system icons like in your screenshots, right?...if Im not mistaken you only have this for french users?...

Yes it's right. This small pack (full and lite) doesnt include/replace the dlls to change other system icons and animation.

The DLL used in the big pack "Crystal SVG" available on customxp.net are French ;) .

If you used them, your Windows will be in French

"what program is that running there ? "

regarding his question I think he means either Msn or the Dock Bar. Most likely the Dock bar

It's mobydock : it is the only dock which can go to the top of the taskbar

ahh ok, I see. I was just wondering since I liked some of the icons used there( like the network conections one) that I didnt seem to have, so I was curious. Im currently using Mavisxp shell pack which is great and is more less the same as the one you are using, but some things change(some icons are used differently others are not used).

futb0l you can get a crystalized US shell32.dll and crystal icon compilation Here

Once again, thanks for this VS dlb:))

problem...

i want to apply the vs but i get this error... what should i do?

  Very strange.... I never encountered this problem

Have you got Windows XP with SP1?

Try to download lite version. Your file can be corrupt

My pack contains 34 dll, 15 cpl and 17 exe

It's a very complete customisation with 128*128 icons. The instalation is automated for the beginners with a .cmd file

hmmmm odd....well I tried all the suggestions you gave and none work ( Im using the same uxtheme version, windows sp1, ect)..you see my problem is slightly different. I can apply the vs and I can use windows and this vs with no big problem, however when I click/focus the windows of some programs I get the exact same error as eliazu (see atachtment for refference).... maybe some others have this problem as well but havent realize it yet since its not something that shows right away...try to open lets say, regedit, and then click exactly on top of the window ( the blue area of the vs). this happen with other programs like notepad and photoshop where I cant click on the top of the window or I get this error.

My shell32 (and other dll) are french... sorry?

But, if you like crystal icons, you can use iconpackager and download that

Great visual style, It's definitely one of my favourite VS! I have not had any problems so far, and I'm on Windows XP too.

I am already using the Crystal Icons for Icon Packager, but I was wondering if you could also make a shell32 (and other dll) for an English version of Windows? The reason is I already have the icons, but I would prefer to have a more "complete" transformation, which would change these things too for example:

I hope you will consider translating the DLLs to English! Thanks in advance!

Ok, sure. I will just get it from a fresh install of Windows XP Professional SP1 with all the latest updates from Windows Update. I'll get it all ready and send you a link to the file by PM, probably later today! :D Thanks!

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
