OK I give up!!! I can't figure out what programs you guys are using to get such great desktops!!! Is it WinStep or that TGTSoft .dll patch thing? Could ya please maybe inform me what you all are using? Well I have to be up for work in 5 houres night all! :cheeky:

MMicons is making them for OSX & XP, he's releasing the super insane set April 17th.

Something like 380 icons...

I couldn't wait, so I attacked his preview pic in PS7 and made my own from his work.

I can't give them out because it would be a "copyright violation", but they'll be available soon anyway.

If you know anything about layers, the paths tool and shadowing it's easy to make your own off his preview pic...

Ok man, you really have to hook me up with that WP. Heh. I've gone through the majority of wallpapers in devart (which I might add, is NOT easy and had to be spanned accross small time sections. If i had gone through them all in one day, I would've gone nuts.) and still haven't found it. Just email it to me or something!!! Heh.

Oh, thanks for the second screenshot. It's good for me to see that theme in action. Gives me more to work from.

Heh, if anyone's curious, I've changed my mind about scrapping my webview and starting from scratch. I was able to clean out a lot of the code today while talking on the phone with my gf (no, her and I weren't talking about HTML or crap like that ;)). So it's actually working nice. I've also cleaned out the majority of errors that were present.

All that needs to be done now is:

*To get the slide effect in place (probably through DHTML).

*To get the icons for system areas working.

*Successfully modify the browselc.dll file (reshack doesn't like it very much and I need to edit it because the webview stuff keeps accessing it for code instead of the javascript I'm putting in... if anyone has insights, PM me).

*To fix the problem with the panels opening on a folder change.

*Fix the media player problem (it's off center of the rest).

If any of you are interested in helping with any of these problems, PM me, I'll send you the latest files via email. I've cleaned out the code a lot so it's easier to edit and navigate.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... thanks to eangulus for the image in the bottom panel. It's his avatar. I found it forever ago while browsing these forums (way before i ever registered) and saved it, then found in just recently in my collection and used it. Only when I saw a post by him did I remember where I got it. :)

Just to keep in line with the topic of the thread:

Not much new. Mostly imrpoving the efficiency of the webview. Learning my DHTML. ;)

No 3rd party apps were used except for a small, memory-resident program for the icon text backgrounds on the desktop. Everything else is customized from within.

you can get actual icons here if you want to port them over yourself. the platinum ones are kinda cool, but they only go up to 32x32. from what you said tho, it sounds like you have the skillz to make 'em bigger and sweeter...

maybe you could point me to some docs on the paths tool, i am having a really hard time understanding that concept. when you say ps, do you mean Photoshop or Paintshop?

still haven't snagged Photoshop 7 yet...know what i mean?

    • I agree, especially if it is cloud sourced, like this one is.. but I wouldn't say no to a local AI assistant similar to the Zettlab one which would be really helpful with my large Photos library, but also to perform tasks like installing Docker apps rather than me having to do it via Docker Compose, but I don't think we're quite there yet. Synology Photos is somewhat AI, you can ask it to search for certain people (if you have tagged them and it will attempt to match similar photos to the person) and if you put a search term in for "cars" for example, it will show you all photos with a car.
    • I doubt that Google will keep the same price... it may go up from that list published.
