What type of technicalities have you used to get out of a ticket. I'm thinking about those people that always say..."If you get a speeding ticket just do this and you'll get out of it." or "If you get caught underage drinking make sure to ask for this test and you'll get out of it."

I know a friend of mine got out of a handicap parking ticket because the wheelchair symbol was only painted on the ground but for it to be enforceable there also needs to be a handicap sign in front of the spot.

Got any other "free by a technicality" stories?

tickets fookin suck. yesterday got a $30 fee for parking with motorbike. fookin hilarious in gay germany. anyway sicne my parents knowthe mayor personally he got one evil phonecall from them asking why there's no motorbike parking spots. cuz when i wanna park at a normal parking lot (for cars) i either get yeleld at my police officers or the car drivers. if i wanna park somewhere else the policeman always tells me i need a parking ticket for my bike. i mean wtf, am i supposed to duct tape it onto my bike?

ok..went a bit ofttopic...just pay em. they dont hurt.

Getting out of a Moving violation is easy. Mostly it depends on the state. Here in Missouri an attorney drafts a letter to the prosecutor asking for a recommendation to a no points non moving violation. If you record is clean and you have no warrants, he/she will usually rec it down to EVN "Extra Vehicular Noise" (no muffler) and require a 100 - 200 dollar payment. but, ecasue it is non moving, and no points, the insurance baddies dont know about it and it is not on your record.

Haven't used this personally, but in the UK, you can get out of the automated speed camera fines by not signing the letter that comes through your door. Just tick that you admit it, and then send it back without a signature. They can't do s**t! Check out http://www.safespeed.org.uk/unsignedpress.html!

I don't think they've changed it yet, but expect them to!

Atleast in Georgia, you can get out of a ticket if they either don't ask you if you want to see the radar or show it to you. By that I mean, when I got pulled over the cop asked me if I wanted to see the radar, since it was my first ticket I was like "Uh, nah...it's o.k." Turns out, that if I had said yes and he didn't have the reading on there (saying I was going 80) then he can't give me a ticket.

I think it was to prevent cops from just pulling over people they could just see were going too fast and making up a speed that they were going (or if they were good, knowing just on their own without a radar).

in the uk if you a pulled using a radar gun or gatso (speed camera) you are entitled to ask to see a valid calibration certificate (not sure how long they last ,6 months or something) if the device has no calibration certificate, then the ticket isnt valid.

For gods sake man - do the crime pay the time. Its probably not a huge amount -you know that you were in the wrong- why not just own up and pay? These taxes are going to some presidential coffer- there going into improving your roads and services.

Well some tickets you have to admit your in the wrong so just admit and pay, it only going to cause problems if you don't. but then again if it involves points then i would fight. if it just tickets like ?50 or less i would just pay em.

in the uk there have been some very silly tickets i am sure some will have seen this one.

a women parked her car infront of her house, she went away for a few hours, came back later to find that yellow lines have been painted and she got a ticket BUT the yellow lines stoped at the front of her car and then at started again behind the car, there where no lines to end the lines. so she didn't have to pay the bill since she was not in the wrong.

if it a clamp and it a heffy bill and no signs about clamping, just use some tools or brute force to remove em, or what you could do is put your OWN clamps on, let the basteds try and clamp ya now lol. another one is lower your car so that theres not enough room for a clamp. then connect the battery up to window wipers so when the clampers put tickets on em they get a shock,

well I hear showing some leg and skin will get you out of it.

I've only had one ticket and the lady was telling me how I can get out of having to pay it.

Which I thought was pretty weird that she was telling me how to get out of it.

Was the lady from the place that you call the number on the ticket to ask questions about it.

get a cheap attorney and file a motion to request...

1. the certification for the officer to use a radar gun

2. the certification for the equipment

3. the ceritification of the last date of calibration of the equipment

4. last known survey of the area showing that the posted speed is accurate

usually the officer will fail to present one or more of these. your attorney can go from there.

there's a book (the title eludes me) with this and other information. just google it and you'll find it.

best one i have heard that could possibly work (never tried) is if you have a bottle of water in you car, dump in on your crotch, that way when the cop comes up you can say that you "had to go really bad and just couldnt hold it any longer"
