im sure once the scope bug is fully fixed he can get back to work on the chat.. but remember its only a one man operation atm....

and its still early day yet... the best thing we can do is help find the bugs and get them out :) then move on to the next thing

not that im gonna doubt what your program says but why are these people dummies O.o?

Changelog:

changed the delay between loading each buddy in the buddylist

i still cant add people to the buddy list...

and cool im in the about thing ^___^ yay

:edit:

[bug]

resizing the program below its desired size causes the window to... well spasm(pretty accurate word)

you may wanna fix a minumum window size

[bug]

minimise to try still exists when minimised to tray

[bug]

i think were back to not loggin off again -note ricksta.... if there isnt actually two of them (ill log off and check)

tho nice to see you fixed the problem where more than one instance of the program could be run... ^_^

Simply because its easier to debug exactly what is loading in each contact list. I know whatever happens i should get 5 debug names even if noone is online

You mean the friends part of the buddy list? This will come i promise you. The idea is everyone who logs in to Neowin Messenger will load in the main list, and the people that you add will load in the friends list. This will mean you wont have to trawl though tons of names to find your buddies

These all are bugs caused by difference in resoloution that i really need to fix. What res are you running at? 1024x768 im guesing

[bug]i think were back to not loggin off again -note ricksta.... if there isnt actually two of them (ill log off and check)

I just saw that too... im looking into it

What dose (dummy) at the end of users names mean? its it due to the scope bug?

They are simply buddies that are hard coded into the server to help me debug

cant seem to sign on, i've been trying for ages. But still no luck. first it got stuck at 'disconnected', then it keeps saying 'loading buddy list'..and its not doing anything apart from move the Neowin Logo From left to right..ect

[EDIT]: Now im getting 'There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again in a few mintues'

I'll wait...

How come you dont even have to enter the password? ( This is a good thing though :) )

My guess is that it works based on the http protocol and with the ie cookies or something around those lines.

Does this program sends data somewhere besides Neowin ? Sorry for my ignorance but I just saw this and really dont feel like reading this whole topic hehe.

At the moment you can log in with whatever name you like (try it). The login here has no relation (yet) to your neowin login name

This will be sorted after the other problems

Just to let you guys know, yesterday I completly rewrote the network protocol, so log in's and log off's should work flawlessly. I will be releasing this tommorow when i'm fresh

I've been at work all day today. Thanks for the patience

Well you're doing a good job, I can't wait until you get everything working properly.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
