Windows 2000 Remote Connection

Recommended Posts

I'm having a problem with remote connecting to a Windows 2000 box from a Windows XP machine.

I have a RDP shortcut on my Windows XP machine that points to a particular executable on the Windows 2000 machine. Up until today, when I closed the machine application the RDP session to the Windows 2000 box, the session would end correctly and no open session would be showing on the event log of the Windows 2000 machine.

However, when I do this today the application closes, but the RDP connection stays open and the only way to get out of it is to crash out and disconnect the system using a management console.

No changes have been made to the Windows XP machine or the Windows 2000 machine.

Any suggestions greatly received.

Trajik - In windows TS, if you set the connection to autoruna an app, then the session closes when the app is closed it is an inherant feature.

Llawnroc, have you tried creating a new connection package? Open RDC set all parameters and the application command line. Then connect. If it continues to do the same thing, check the policys in effect on the TS server. I know there are a lot of policies that govern TS sessions, maybee something got changed.

Guys!

Cheers for the replies, have been on holiday and not had any access to respond!

Have looked at this again today and guess what..................it all works!!! No changes have been made, except for the MS04-11 / 12 / 13 on the XP client and MS04-11 on the Windows 2K box.

Very strange but happy now that it works..

Cheers for all you help!
