I'm converted! (windowblinds)

WindowBlinds users are much MUCH more tolerant than MSStyle "advocates".

By the line "alot of people are very defensive about the theming software they use" i meant people who use wb or msstyles and like to argue over it, like i said in my first post, i didnt post to start arguments. that was only my opinion, and i never put down or argued with anybody who disagreed, it's just not my nature, i really dont give a crap what theming software anybody uses and wont argue for one over the other, like i said before, if you use wb fine, i dont care, if you use msstyles then fine, i still dont care, it has no effect on me at all.

So could people stop bringing me into stuff about this cause i dont care and have better things to do with my time than reply to people who disagree with my opinions. And yes i know i brought myself into this and for that im kicking myself

Also, AthleticTrainer1981 where did you get that mac skin, i have been looking for it can cant find it (Also to everybody else, see how im looking for a WB skin, so no more crap about me being a msstyles fanboy, ok?)

ahh i hate WB makes we want to vom and the fact that it works on 9x pcs makes it worse.

EDIT OK AthleticTrainer1981

1. I hate it because I don?t think windows 9x should be themed the way xp can be done why? Because its not meant to be.

2. people say its safer to use than mssthemes. I don?t think it is when i use it it always crashes.

3. most of the themes are awful looking,

4. Why pay for it when given some time you could get the same effect manually using reshacker,

5. its not user friendly and Im an advanced user.

Happy?

no i am not happy at all. here's why to answer your questio1. I hate it because I don?t think windows 9x should be themed the way xp can be done why? Because its not meant to be.e.

that's the whole point of the program. to also make other people skin their computer, its main purpose is still2. people say its safer to use than mssthemes. I don?t think it is when i use it it always crashes.hes.

my computer is on 24/7 and i have been running windowblinds for 2 months now, it hasn't crashed once. be careful with what you say. :rol3. most of the themes are awful lookingking

each to their opinion. you may think they are awful but other may like them. have you ever seen opulence, vector-cell, mini OS, Kwek Hoe, etc...? If you haven't http://www.guiolympics.com is the place t4. Why pay for it when given some time you could get the same effect manually using reshacker, ker,

you pay for it to show the authors that you respect their software and that you sponser them to continue doing this. why pay for xp while you could still be usi5. its not user friendly and Im an advanced user. er.

oh come on now. not user friendly? its all self explained, you dont even have to search for anything anymore. i remember it last year, then it was hard. damn it advanced yo:rolleyes:olleyes:

Banzai, you're in a wb forum here and most of what you said is just rubbish. if you don't like it don't use but dont start critising other themes and the software itself with untrue:no:ts.

5. its not user friendly and Im an advanced user.

Ummm... wait a second... if you're an advanced user, what do you need user-friendliness for?

Pretty little interfaces are for n00bs who can't figure out "advanced interfaces" aren't they? (Frankly using a uxtheme hack requires figuring out what version of Windows you're running, which is beyond your average user's abilities... Windowblinds requires approximately four clicks to skin your computer - 1 to install, 1 to open up the display properties, 1 to select the skin you want, and 1 to apply it.)

Even the Advanced WB Config is very easy to use (how I apply all my skins).

Now, I hear that WB 4.3 + SkinStudio will allow me to port MSStyles to WB!  Now this would be soo cool!  I totally prefer MSStyle themes like Aluminum  Alloy, Milk, etc.  than most WB themes.  GUI Olympics has some good fresh new WB themes though.

To enjoy GUI on the next level buy WB 4.3 then download the themes from the GUI Olympics

------------

Greenskid -

Aluminum Alloy, Milk, Smoothstripes, Panther and just about every OS X theme out there have been made as Windowblinds skin. They aren't msstyles themes at all!

In addition, the Windowblinds versions HAVe the widgets in the upper left corner where they're supposed to, and WITH correct hover (all three buttons should show the x - + when any of them are hovered over). Msstyles can't do this. Windowblinds versions of the skins are also available in 0px and 1px borders (more accurate to the original OS X theme).

Go and check out the Stardock > Windowblinds section on www.aqua-soft.org for all your Windows --> OS X theming desires.

1. No one ever said you had to have Win 9x skinned, it's all up to what you want.

2. And look through neowin at all the horror stories people have had with getting the modified uxtheme to work, plenty of problems there. When was the last time you heard of WB not installing correctly. It is the poorly coded theme that can crash programs, same thing with msstyles.

3. Have you looked through guiolympics lately? Try flipping through wincustomize. Some very good themes there. I can name plenty of aweful looking msstyles also.

4. By using your opinion, why drive when given enough time you can walk there. People use WB and msstyles because they have lives and don't have the time to manually reshack every file to make a skin.

5. WB is very user friendly. You apply themes using display properites, just like applying an msstyles.

Your arguments are pointless that aren't backed up with any facts. I can come back with you with just as many reason why I don't use msstyles, but what's the point? I use WB because it worlds for me and I like it and I don't like msstyles.

Thanks for that info about the OSX windowblinds themes. :)

Oh, does anyone know if WindowFX can add a shadow the Taskbar when its positioned at the top of the screen?

I am currenlty using yzShadow and also yzToolbar. WB 3.4 means I can throw away yzToolbar, however if WindowFX can replace yzShadow (for taskbar) then I'll just go and update my ObjectDesktop from Stardock.
