i Tunes Install Error

Hey

When every i try and install the latest version of i tunes i get the following error:

1607: Unable to install Installsheild Scripting Runtime

what should I do??

I have tried clearing out all the temp folders but that dosnt help

Do you have administrator privilege? Try redownload it again, clear up your windows and internet temporary files.. Do clean install, don't upgrade...

Righty that's happening to me too, Do you happen to be testing the Windows Update V5 beta and accepted the installation of the Windows Installer beta? I think that is the cause we are getting this error, this is also preventing me from installing several applications which use Windows Installer.

I tried but it still leaves something messed up around the lines. I think its the whole V5 beta that messes something up in Windows Installer

yep i do have the Windows Update V5 beta and ive tried uninstalling i tunes and it gives me a similar error. Is there anyway to remove or change what the V5 beta has changed so i can install i tunes? I did nt have this problem 2 days ago when i installed a different version of i tunes but i have download some updates from the V5 beta since then

It looks like the changes made cannot be reversed, our best luck is when SP2 is released or when a new build comes out that has a corrected version of the Windows Installer.

Oh well those are the concequences of testing 'beta' software.

Really it doesnt bother me, Im patient on these things :)

How about running sfc /scannow?

I have tried that tooyudi_lks , actually its the first thing I did and still nothing lol thanks though your help is appreciated.
