A friend of mine has this awful limescale stain down the side of her house ... the result of years of overflow from a waterpipe ... and I was wondering if anyone here has any tips for trying to shift it!. She's tried scrubbing it ... blasting it with a high-pressure hose ... and a couple of treatments especially for this sort of thing (Brickie? ... http://www.wisemangroup.co.uk/prod19.htm), but nothing seems to be working ... any builders here with any brickwork cleaning tips?? ... TIA.

 Limeaway, CLR ?

Read this on the Net ...

"Lime or hard-water mineral buildup is dissolved by an acid. Vinegar or lemon juice may be rubbed over the stain, to dissolve. Do not leave on stain too long, as acids will eventually damage surface of porcelain enamel. Rinse thoroughly. Commercial products designed to remove lime deposit may be used if label says safe for the surface. Do not use acids on fiberglass, nor any commercial product unless label says safe for fiberglass."

"The guide below explains how you can remove many common stains from porous masonry materials before sealing. Make sure you treat a small test area before treating the entire area."
