now that i have got my lovely new amd xp-m 2500+

and my new 160gig sata hdd and dfi infinity nforce2 mobo which will arrive tomoro

i need some tasty ram to get this baby to overclock to the max!

i am looking for 512mb

any recommendations/tips are greatly appreciated

If I were you, I would get some Kingston HyperX as it seems to be able to OC well. ;)

get OCZ Enhanced Latency series. get 2x 256mb to run them in dual channel mode.

btw let me know how you like the dfi infinity, I'm looking to buy either that or the nf7-s, did you get the ultra or the just the regular one?

well stick with ddr400 for now, cas 2 or 2.5 is acceptable...and it gives you decent room(mhz) to overclock (if you need more... go for something higher.. but that usually means higher timings ;))

PC3500 timings are pretty tight, so I'd go for 2x256MB sticks and give myself some immediate overclocking headroom.

geil golden dragon pc3200 ddr400. i have a stick and am gonna get another. its really nice and runs fast.

I've heard nothing but terrible reviews on this RAM as far as OC'ing goes, I geuss it looks pretty damn cool, but it's not gonna perform as well in overclocking

yea I heard geil is bad, dont get geil. OCZ are good overclocking ram, simpletech nitro are decent too. if you get the hyperX or XMS you cant go wrong with those either
