roguecoolman
Hi, I've been checking this error in my PDC. ---START--- Event Type: Error Event Source: w32time Event Category: None Event ID: 62 ... ... Description: This Machine is a PDC of the domain at the root of the forest. Configure to sync from External time source using the net command, 'net time /setsntp:<server name>'. ---END--- I researched a bit on the internet and there was solution to sync it with an outside source. http://www.netadmintools.com/art313.html Since this is the PDC at the root of the domain, I was wondering what you guys would normally fix this situation. Would you guys synch the pdc with an outside source? Are there any problems with lettings this error go unresolved? Thank guys, Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/164294-w32time-errors-event-id-62/ Share on other sites
Eversurf
Some admin like to point their server to outside sources so that they get the accurate time and stuff. I never remember those time server so i just use my cell time and put it in the server and then I point the server to itself to get the accurate time Have fun !!! Trajik 2600
I believe this should do it for you: net time /setsntp:tick.uh.edu Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/164294-w32time-errors-event-id-62/#findComment-2073548 Share on other sites
Billprozac
I have had my users complain because the time on the systems and especially that controll reminders in outlook are a few minutes off of real time. I think it is always a good idea to sync with an outside source...just make sure it is a trusted one. I guess the real question is, does it do you any good not to sync with an outside source. No, so why wouldn't you? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/164294-w32time-errors-event-id-62/#findComment-2074453 Share on other sites
