Thanks for the opinions. Decided to go with the first one, its just too hard to use the buttons with the black bar around them with XPs limitations, would never get it to look identical to the real thing. Ended up changing the tool bar to match the caption bar too, thought it made it look more like the pdc windows.

very nice illusion! :) very very very nice :D maybe thinner caption buttons... and caption bar.

Ya the buttons will change for sure.. can't figure out what goes best there, actually the whole thing kind of bothers me.. Wish there were some higher resoulution pics of the PDC build out there to go by.. anyway I decided to quit on that part and come back to it later and finished up the start panel tonight. Its based on the new jade start panel and the pdc panel together (they pretty much look the same anyway) and I have to give credit to Windows X for the cool black windows logo that spices it up a little bit. :D Heres a shot.

Oh and also, which caption bars does everyone like? The one where it blends in with the toolbar where it looks like one whole bar like in the shot 2 posts above this one.. or the normal caption bars with the greyish toolbar like in the last shot on the previous page? I've looked at it too long and none are looking good to me at the moment lol

I'll put some finishing touches on it tonight and maybe post a rough version of it tomorrow, if that goes well. Its being built on top of Luna, so anything that I haven't changed over to "aero" will show up as blue Luna, so it will work as it is now.. but i just dont have enough done yet to post it but if I get enough done tonight I'll see what i can do.

OldeCrow: Thats Awesome! I really like that :D

what havent u changed yet? I dont know how to make themes so im just curious...

oh yea i like the one where its all blended. Like u said, makes it look like the pdc video. It adds the simplistic kinda touch to the whole theme. Its like its whole and thats a cool effect.

for those of you who were interested

Its still a work in progress, ill add it to the work in progress section here when i get back from vacation so i can get some feedback on it :)

that's just the way I want it... still buggy, and changes here and there.. and it'll be perfect!

smaller captionbar is defitely what we want here :p

i say this is going to be the coolest theme ever...

but here are some suggestions to make the theme a little bit better...

1. Use smaller caption buttons, when possible make them looking retancular, not square...(sory im not english)

2. Use the jade logoff and shutdown buttons

3. make the windows flag colored and delete the ster text of the stertbutton

4. would be cool to see the flag in the startpanel

5. somehow its possible that the lines in the upper border between adressbar and icons can be deleted or skinned.

i think chaninja did that trick in his styles, perhaps he will help you out.

nothing more at the momenet..

btw, OldeCrow, thanks for the great work :woot:

Theres a lot .. a bunch of little things ya dont tend to remember until you think you're done too lol I got a lot done today though.. worked on the buttons and controls, and thinned out the caption bars and got the caption buttons done finally.

Thanks :D Almost done, been working far too long on it today or tonight or whatever it is now  Heres how she looks so far.. forgot to enable the transparency in the windows.. too tired to redo it though lol

By the way, what font should I use when I upload it? It's set to use Segoe UI a lot, but some people aren't gonna have that installed...

mmm... I am wondering if you can make a black version of that?

And what I mean by black version is all black taskbar, and all black windows? and I think the caption buttons aren't too hot.

Illusion456, youre great man,

hope zou will release it soon...

and perhaps you can upload the icons too...

and heres another little thing:

if your intereted to support office 2003 silver style, you have to make another substyle called "metallic", just copy the normalcolor dir. then we can rename the msstyle filename to luna, copy it to luna dir and can use office 2003 themes.... just an idea

well u can include Segoe UI with the theme... I think its perfect man, i would just change anything that hasnt been yet over to this and release it. Then u can mod it to do a black one if u want. But i think its is so sweet, its exactly what i have been lookin for, :D BRAVO!!!!!!

    • Nice, hope they *finally* fixed the issue with the NTFS driver where the system would completely brick during large file copies using the built in driver. It's been broken for years requiring me to use the older, slower, NTFS-3G FUSE driver.
    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
