Whats The Best MiniDV Camera for 450 bucks?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a MiniDV camera but I only got around 450 bucks to spend major more depending on the quality jump on prices for say like 600, i dont need anything REAL fancy, Just want good quality movies with it

Question to mods, There should be a Peripherals sectiopn :p

Thanks, xortex.

I just bought one from Samsung, and it seems to be pretty good. Low light is definitely an issue, as with all low-end miniDV's. Just find one at a store that will let you try it FIRST, (i.e. BestBuy, they usually have them plugged into a monitor so you can see the end result... don't rely on the LCD viewfinder)

geez, just realized how out of date my specs are... I guess I haven't posted in awhile...

Hmm, great topic.

Can you read my mind xortex ?

Wanted to start a topic just like this one. The only thing difference is my budget --> 500 euro's

Don't want to spent more 'cause it is going to be my first camera ever :)

I came across the following camera : JVC DR73

Can anyone tell me if this is a good choice ?

Tnx in advance.

Yeah, I know A Guy Recommended a Canon GL2 for the line of work I'm wanting to do with the camera ;)

But the GL2 are like 1,500$ a used one is around 900$, but thats still out of my range for now untill i gather more money so im looking for a good one for a lower budget, and yeah bestbuy would be a good idea to go to, I'll try that soon and see what i can dig up when i get time to drive 50 miles to the nearest frickin bestbuy >_<!!!

regards, xortex.

If you want my advice, wait till you can spend at least $600 on a camera and get a low end Sony or Cannon. Anything for $450 or under will not look that great and youll end up getting a better one down the road verry soon anyway. at least thants what happened to me. for that extra $150 you will end up getting a WAY better camera all around.
