OK...... I know I'm being a bit picky here, But the section of the startmenu in the middle is a little bit to big... Any chance to fix that up? :) The other thing is the " Turn Off Computer " is chopped.. :) Maybe change the text to " Shutdown " Just my $0.02 :)

Beginning -- didn't know I could change the text to "Shutdown"... But I'll extend the compact start panel about 5 more pixels -- that should fix it. I don't use the xp start menu, and when I test with it, the log off button has been removed way back when via regedit so that's why I didn't catch it. Sorry. I'll fix it today. Could you be a tester for that feature for me please?

Thanks to Beginning, I fixed quite a few bugs.

Clouds is now up to v 1.7:

* Enlarged the Compact Start Menu option slightly so that the "Turn Off Computer" text was not cut off.

* Miscellaneous shellstyle color fixes.

* Fixed bug that occasionally cut off the text on a button.

I'm trying to re-do the start menu button. I originally wanted something like the tray notification area button by the clock:

But my efforts at first were not very good. I have tried again -- would yall let me know if you prefer the new or old style? New is on the right, old (current style) is on the left:

One thing in this Visual Style that I never really was very happy with was the toolbar button hover & pressed effects. This can bee seen in Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, and other applications which have a button hover effect.

This morning I re-did the buttons for the Blue Standard version ONLY. I'd like some feedback on this test version that includes the new button hover effects please. I want to know if it should go on all color modes. I personally like it better, but wish I could make them a little less square-ish.

Would anyone be willing to help me modify the shellstyle.dll files so that I can get transparent boxes, so the background griadient shows through (like what the Extensis VS has, but also removing the background on the "system taks", "other places" and "details" boxes too)?

EDIT:

I'm most of the way there... I need to look at how Extensis does it because my way is pretty ugly on the transition. But here's a screenshot of how it looks in action:

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
