Neowin Toolbar?

Question

Hi all,

Finaly found some time at work to reply so..

BeeJay: Ok had a look at the SS here and can't really see a pinkish colour :( but I'll check when I get home :).

twist: The cutoff problem was also fixed in the 0.65 build :)

Space Guy and all: The backspace 'issue' has appeared due to the toolbar nolonger recieving any focus commands from IE so I'll have to look at coding some thing to do this.

I'll also do the clear the search string as an option so peaople can choose :).

PiMPiN: Yep the chevron is a toolbar feature, however the toolbar stuff was the thing creating a problem in IE :( so it had to go.

Choosing the images shouldn't be a problem to add so if I have the time tonight I'll try it.

Also I should be able to do a 'Light' version where all you see is a couple of buttons and the search field, but this will have to wait untill this is done.

Thanks all,

Vader

I am starting to think it is the color you had intended. The color isn't noticably pink, however, the buttons don't quite blend in enough on my toolbar because of the differance in the 3D grey background of the toolbar and the bakground button color.

Like I said... no big deal. It is just a little bit of an abrupt change to the user interface. If you like it then leave it alone. I certainally can live with it. :-)

I can see a slight pink tint as well. Probably due to the image color contrasting with the IE interface. Might also be an option Vader to include 2 or 3 different icon/button sets and allow someone to choose in the options.

OR

In the ini file have it list the images and their resource ids or something to allow a simplistic form of "skinning"

BTW, finally found my Delphi CDs so I should have it installed in the morning, will then be able to continue work on it. If you could PM Vader with the latest bug list it would be appreciated.

The buttons are not something I really did, Someone I know produced it and gave me the code which I've been bug fixing and I through I'd try them to get rid of the problem with IE crashing.

But I'll look at the stuff that draws the button and remove the dithering code that is run if I can with out breaking them :)

PiMPiN: As above I can't skin the thing at the mo, so I'll think on this a bit :s

The only real good thing is I have hopefully found away around the backspace problem in the search field (after around 3 hours of programming :disappoin last night) and it will be in the version I release in a couple of days.

The only thing now is as PiMPiN said can anyone with any problem no matter how small please PM me with it (and that includes suggestions of what to include as well) as I want to finally stop adding features after the next release and just consentrate on bugs.

Thanks,

Vader

Do you mean the backspace 'issue' (as MS would say :))

If so then yep fixed I've found a way of sending the focus to the field only and not the entire band.

And the search field will clear itself if the option is sellected.

I have also incuded 2 looks in there as well, which again can be choosen.

If I have the time I'll release a new version tonight

A very tired,

Vader.

Can you use a transparent icon for the options.exe file. There's a black border around the logo now.

I can send you an icon when I get home if you want

Hey sorry I didn't reply sooner... with the new options and bug fixes, the toolbar seems to be perfect, definitely good enough for a more public release. I've had the last version installed since a couple hours after it was released, and I definitely don't have any more crashes relating to the toolbar, and no other problems to mention at all. Love it :D

Sorry about the long wait.

I'm re-doing the flat style for the buttons as you know. I was hoping that it would of been available last weekend but work got in the way :( so hopefully this week end ;)

If I have the time I may code the icons to either use the build in resources or get a icon from the install dir.

Thanks,

Vader

Hi,

As and when I get some more time to do things like this again I'll restart development on it.

It's just at the moment if I'm not at work I normaly get roped in to playing clan matches for CS and BF1942 at the mo.

So hopefully it should start again soon espesaly now I have Delphi 7 (It has WinXP skin support).

Cheers,

Vader

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
