14.jpg

if set at 1024x768 personally i thought it looks horrible and you will get a message (you can disabled it)

10.jpg

11.jpg

The monitor is very bright and will require a bit of reduction in contract and brightness

12.jpg

CONCLUSION

This is one of the best TFT monitors on the market. I've had not ghosting when playing games like UT2004, FS2004, NFSU, Max Payne 1 & 2 or when watching DVD's. Windows XP looks even slicker :p with the bright colours and the use of Clear Type is sweet especially with ClearTweak.

The best feature of this monitor personally is the ability to switch between computer's at the touch of a button I had no dead pixel.

Will you do me a favour (Using the Windows XP Theem Default Blue) go to my Music & My Pictures and tell me if you can clearly see the little image at bottom right side of the screen? Make sure you have 'Use Background Image For Each Folder Type' ticked. Can you see the image.. is it really hard to see? Or crytsal clear?

Yes, the VP171b is the same as the VP171s. Just one is silver and one is black.

I have the VP171s and I absolutely love it. I've had no ghosting in games and the image is so sharp and bright I dont know how I ever went with a CRT all those years. I'd definately recommend it to anyone, expensive but well worth it!

I don't think so - in CRT's the beam has to travel through the whole screen area and refresh rates are important(analogue signal). Whereas in LCD monitors it's all about individually switching pixels on and off so 60 Hz should be enough(digital signal). Am I right?

i dont know if its like that,if sb could give some more info or a url to read about these i d be grateful.

what you say is right tho the refresh rate is pixels going on and off on both occasions so i assume again that on an lcd or crt 60hz will be tiring.dont understand how it can be different, the pixels would still go on and off 60times per sec.

..

dont know.

Low refresh rates like 60Hz are uncomfortable on CRTs because their pixels require continuous scanning. On a CRT, the entire screen is rescanned (whether or not anything has changed) at that rate, which causes flicker. This is not the case on LCDs - once a pixel is "on" or "off", it doesn't need to be refreshed until its state changes. Therefore, LCDs have no flicker and the refresh rate is not a concern.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
