I think I want to blog

Question

I'd like to open my own blog on my website findreality.com, it'd be just random stuff like most blogs, but I'm essentually a graphic designer with basic webdesign knowledge, and I know nothing about php. I'd like some reccomendations of software or blog services which could help with my site? The blog I look at most is http://www.enorgis.com/ so anything which would come out kinda like this would be cool.

P.S. I've started with revamping my old logo (attached), and my new one is in my sig, how'd ya like it?

Luke

Logo there is a bit of an eyesore. As for blog recommendations:

http://www.cafelog.com for b2

http://www.wordpress.org for Wordpress, which afaik is a b2 edit.

Used em both, and they look cool.

You can make a blog script look like anything you want. My site is running Wordpress (shameless plug, sorry http://www.johto.co.uk/ ) and you can get a good range of "skins" (although they are really just css edits) from: http://wiki.wordpress.org/StyleCompetition

So blogging is a way to post your text on a web page without actually coding your own HTML, is that about right? You just send in an email or post in a text box like you do to enter your post on Neowin forums and it puts it up on your web page so other people can read it?

Yep - also, in WP there are other features that allow people who register to comment on your comments, calendar, easy to use link system. I think, just give it a try, blogging doesnt appeal to everyone.

Ive coded my own sites, ripped off other peoples and used prepackaged software forums / portals - to tell you the truth Im just a bit tired of that, and a blog script is about all I can cope with.

They are good, just pick one and give it a shot

If you don't know how to set things up at all, you could just use a blogging Web site like Blogger.com. I use their blog system, but store it on my own server. I really like it, and they have a new feature called Audioblogger where you can call a number and it automatically posts your message as an MP3 file. Going that route is definately the easiest, because you can choose to set up NOTHING and just use the default settings and let them take care of it, or you can change some settings so it is stored on your own server. I've built pages using PHP/MySQL, my current project is pretty complicated, but I still just decided not to deal with too much hassle.
