Suicide, I am trying to fix the bugs. I think I remember that you wanted the fonts fixed, and that is the next thing on my list before I will try to release.

I IMed contra when I first restarted work and asked him if he was still working on PlastikXP.

His response: "no, not at all". So I think i'm the one mainly working on the theme now, although anyone is welcome to help, and anyone who has posted feedback here already has :).

As for the links being down... a couple people have asked about that. They seem to be and should still be up. I guess just try again, and if that doesn't work I don't know.

And about the WinRAR bug... is anyone still experiencing it? I downloaded the WinRAR trial today and found that dialogue, but it looked fine to me. Can someone verify this bug and tell me how to reproduce it?

And I was thinking about the green/teal styles... I personally don't use either, but even if I did they are so similar it seems silly to have them both. What does everyone else think?

I wouldn't miss it.

I think you should move this discussion to Works In Progress, might get more participation there.

About that start button, the one COrwin made looks blurry. I'm not saying use mine, but if that one is going to be final it should be sharper than that?

Anyway, thanks for all your work on this theme.

Whoops, just noticed that my link to the WIP topic highlights the term "plastikxp", probably because I had to do a search for the topic. I can't edit my previous post, so This Link should be the same one without the highlighting.

Here's the latest version of this theme, with some bugfixes and a new startbutton by Thresher:

This theme is open-sourced, so feel free to continue the work on it from where Thresher left off. :D

The link isn't down, try again, I'll mail it to you if you still can't get it. But it would be good if someone with a Deviantart account would mirror it there so that it definitely won't go down. Just give credit to Contra and Thresher and make sure it's clear that it's open-sourced if you do.

Screenshots are in the "work in progress" thread.

There are seven color variations, but black has a bug with one of the taskbar buttons.

Contra's original (buggy) version contains the shellstyles and fonts (Vera):

Hello Suicide. I'd like to see this completely fixed too. I'm just wondering what bugs are left in this theme. I'm not saying they're not there--I'm almost positive there are some left--just wanting to get some specifics on what needs doing.

And to all the people who are having problems with dling this theme, I'll try to get Contra to put the most recent version on DeviantArt once everyone seems satisfied with it. In the meantime if you can't download it from the link to my site (which I think has been posted several times), just email me and I'd be happy to send it to you.

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
