Firefox downloads in queue?

Question

Is there any easy way to make Firefox downloads go to a queue? An extension or something? It's annoying having six different downloads all over 40 MB competing.. Takes so much longer..

I just realized the "Pause" function could be to this effect.. Is there anything that will do it automatically? Some hidden setting I overlooked? Hopefully..

have you tried anything in about:config?

 I didn't even know that existed.

From what I could glean, it looks like anything I could change in there I could change in the Downloads options.. I'm using the Download Manager Tweak extension, if that has anything to do with anything.. Probably not..

i don't think it can be done.. yet.

i haven't seen any extentions or settings that can enable it.. n i have been looking for a long time.. it's annoying like u said when it competes.. the best thing i've done is gotten the Downloadwith (http://downloadwith.mozdev.org/) extentions.. n redirect all my downloads to Flashget... it also works with loads of other download managers out there... u can give it a whirl...

Yah, I thought about just going back to one of my download managers, but it's so much neater to have one program.. I'd be content to hit "pause" if I knew I'd only have to wait until the next version comes out.. How can we suggest this for the next release? Or maybe there's a nightly build.. I doubt it..

This feature has been asked for many times. The standard reply is that Firefox is no download manager, nor should it have the featureset of one. Download managers exist for the purpose, while browsers do not.

So I don't think you'll be getting this feature unless something changes by 1.0.
