It's weird they call it RTX 5090 SE when specs wise, it's closer to RTX 5080 than it is to RTX 5090... This thing should be called RTX 5080 Super, not RTX 5090 SE...
Naming aside, this is a huge win and something I can't believe didn't happen a long time ago. Right from the beginning, the gap between 5080 and 5090 was ridiculously huge and never made any sense at all. In the charts, look at the 5070 Ti to 5080 jump - about 1500 CUDA cores. Now look at 5080 to 5090 - a whopping 10,000+ cores! Like the 5090 is literally DOUBLE the 5080! It's crazy why it has taken this long to release a in-between model. Maybe the 5090 yields were just so good that NVIDIA never needing to release a salvage part, I don't know, but I'm glad it's happening now.
