Hehe, I love GMail...

they also allow you to Import Your Contacts through a .csv file, now...

GMail is very great :

it's awful to have 1GB of space but it will be perfect to have at least a pop3 server to check for new mail... I use YAMN with MirandaIM and it will be interesting to add the GMail account in the list of mail servers...

I doubt the service is anywhere near public release. Don't get me wrong, I think Gmail is superb but they're obviously not ready.

They have a lot to do (http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/request.py) and a lot of time to do it.

I also don't think Google yet has the resources to release it publically. The demand to use Gmail worldwide is enormous and at a Gig per person do you really think their servers can yet handle several million new users. I personally think not.

My guess is they're trying new things and building their servers in stages, to periodically make way for new users (hence invitation system).

Overall, my Gmail experience has been a pleasure:D:D
