http://www.24fun.com/downloadcenter/benchjs/benchjs.html,

I have seen scores turned in by users which range from 8 seconds to an incredible 2.39 seconds for that site's javascript test, with all of these users running IE 6 on Windows XP. Well, when I run the test on my 2.8 GHz Windows XP machine with IE 6, I get between 14 and 15 seconds. I have no plugins at all installed, and no spyware, so my browser is about as lean as can be. Why can I not get these incredibly fast scores? Can anyone else get 2-3 seconds on that javascript test using IE 6? Because I cannot.

Maybe it's the result of the site owner's server. or maybe it's an AMD64. AMD64 > p4 2.8

Maybe ;) However, looking at the source, code, the benchmark is all javascript, so running off of the server doesn't seem like it would do much good (not THAT much good, anyway). I'm also not sure that the CPU speed will severely impact the final score, beyond a certain point. Weird... I wonder how they do it?

ah, nevermind, I never tried the test, I misread thought it said java

anywho, Firefox got me 11.2

and IE got 35.6 :o

WinXP, on Athlon XP 1.1ghz

Are you using SP2? I think the new security is slowing it down... I should run a test with SP1 security settings and see what it does.

Note I said "should" as I'm going to sleep now ;) Someone else can try this for me if they want (Y)

Nobody tried with Opera 7.51? You should see the results... it's extremely fast...IE coming in second and Firefox third.

So what? I still like Firefox, sticking with it... it is just a fraction of seconds that differentiate them.. call me hardcore firefox fan (but i am not). Why? Cause i like the features firefox has...

    • Ninja Theory was great until Microsoft acquired them. They let them spend a decade on two games, with a third on the way, that explore mental health and were OK interactive experiences. Sony appears to be able to choose better IPs to develop, particularly single player. I'm probably going to buy a PS5 just for Wolverine and God of War Laufey (which reminds me of Heavenly Sword when Ninja Theory was with Sony making games).
    • Good riddance to a terrible studio. They've done nothing but over promise features and fall flat with the releases they've put out.
    • hey buddy, i don't appreciate the attitude. Can't wait to see the results.
