I think that on this test, Opera generally completes it the fastest, with IE in second and Firefox taking up the rear. However, did you guys notice that the two fastest results (by "mrspeedy") were both removed from the list? Why is this? Does it just clear the list every day, or did these people cheat somehow?

Firefox was pretty slow, I think this was my second run.

Firefox 0.9, Windows XP, 1.80-1.89GHz 23.34 seconds, June 22, at 07:47:49

ranking: 270 out of 502 testers

IE 6 was a little faster but I closed the window. It might have been around 13. However, my Opera ROCKED:

8 none, Opera 7.5x, Windows XP, 1.80-1.89GHz 7.06 seconds, June 22, at 07:44:2

sentio, Firefox 0.9, Windows XP, 2.20-2.39GHz          18.39 seconds, June 22, at 07:57:59

Woot! Made top 5!

Complete System specs? :drools:

I tried two computers. I think both are running MS Java.

On the second one I used IE even though MyIE is my default browser.

Messed with the JScript, got this, but doesn't seem to be saving results :(

Um, did you cheat, or what?

I'm still not sure why/if this is a huge deal. Popup windows taking bit to pop up is good in my opinion. I freaking hate those flashy images, and If I need to count to 10,000 or get the dates for the next 100 Christmases I expect it to take a bit.

I would have expected the last machine I tested to be up there, but it still kinda sucked, so what gives?

Um, did you cheat, or what?

Just tried 'cause some results looked kind of cheesy. Wanted to find out if it was easy to cheat. I mean, guys with 100mhz systems doing about 6 seconds, and the pc I was in is a 2.4 ghz P4 that lasted ages to finish...

There are other factors besides Processing power.

It's incredibly easy to cheat, actually. I can get a very fast time just with some manipulation of the javascript used in the test. Look for a 4-second time coming soon... :p

Edit: check out Mr. Speedy's incredible four-second benchmark!

    • Ninja Theory was great until Microsoft acquired them. They let them spend a decade on two games, with a third on the way, that explore mental health and were OK interactive experiences. Sony appears to be able to choose better IPs to develop, particularly single player. I'm probably going to buy a PS5 just for Wolverine and God of War Laufey (which reminds me of Heavenly Sword when Ninja Theory was with Sony making games).
    • Good riddance to a terrible studio. They've done nothing but over promise features and fall flat with the releases they've put out.
    • hey buddy, i don't appreciate the attitude. Can't wait to see the results.
