chacho
ok, then why dont you just partition? its sorta the same thing... Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/181886-making-an-empty-iso/#findComment-2346297 Share on other sites
Hummer
I don't see what you're trying to do. If you're trying to create a blank iso and then mount it so you can add to it etc, you're not goingto be able to do anything with it you'd just have a blank image. You'd have to edit the iso with something like winimage and then remount your iso. Basically, I was trying to make a new drive image so that I could add files to it. The same as partitioning, but I don't know how and don't want to go through the hassle of partitoning. If there was a way to partition without formatting or anything, (without 3-rd party pay software) then I might be interested Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/181886-making-an-empty-iso/#findComment-2346303 Share on other sites
chacho
there are many partitioning tools that make the process quite easy, including acronis partitionexpert and powerquest partitionmagic [edit] nm, didnt see the (without 3rd party software) sorry Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/181886-making-an-empty-iso/#findComment-2346310 Share on other sites
Hummer
try a ram drive.. you're going to lose whatever you put on the drive though. Partition magic is a very good option since you don't have to format. Only the new partition that gets made will be formatted but that's no big deal since there isn't going to be anything on it.
