For Angered England Fans

i bet you are only saying that becasue your Portuguese?

Or maybe because some of you don't know the rules of the game...

As per The Neowin's Official Euro 2004 Thread:

@Frankenchrist: Again with the "diving" story? <g> You seem like a broken record. Always saying the same thing. Whatever. The referee was right to disallow Sol Campbell's header. Terry clearly put his arm across the goalie to impede him and the rules state that the goalkeeper cannot be touched inside the box. You can't prevent the goalkeeper from jumping. Rules are rules.

It's always the same story, same old excuses. Blame the ref, the penalty spot, Portugal had an extra day to prepare, etc. It's always the same with english supporters. What a bad loosers! No elses whines so much! Once again, everything conspired against England... LOL!

England was simply beaten by a better team. Portugal made a great match. You sucked on penalties. We didn't. Period. Better luck next time.

Enough.

For those who still think that England was robbed

Sorry if they were posted earlier

Now, STFU with the conspiracy talking, K?

KTHX.

Fair enough about the disallowed goal, so why wasnt the goal keeper carded for challenging Becks before his penalty. Not only is it poor sportsmanship but also against the rules of the game.

The referee was poor, on both sides but England had to bear the weight of most of his poor decisions.

Portugal are a good team and England clearly were in trouble after Rooney AND Scholes had to come off, that took away our chances because we had a team that would of beaten Portugal had they stayed.

Ricardo never touched Beckham (at least not that I know off), it was just verbal intimidation........ it's a part of the game.

If you can't handle that you shouldn't take a penalty in the first place.

Whats done is done, Becks should of seen the penalty spot but was too busy concentrating on the moment and ignoring the verbal intimidation from the goalkeeper.

I guess David James gets the thumbs up for at least showing the Portugese footballers a little respect because he didn't get all upset at them taking their time to correct the penalty spot did he?

Stupid english.

from our (very fair) forum rules...

or this stupid Englishman might have to impose our ruleset on you ;)

Agreed. He was a true sportsman, unlike Ricardo who was trying to push his luck and was generally an unpleasant character.

the game of football needs dodgy decisions, it's what gives us all somat to moan about and/or wind up our m8's with - what the game dose't need are players who fall over like somat outta swan lake every time an opponent even looks like going past them, from what i could see the england team couldn' t stay on the ball and the portugese couldn't stay on their feet.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with adblockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Opera Air'. It still has some bloat, but nowhere near as much as Brave browser, for example. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. I have a system wide Adblocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the the web browser, but over the whole thing. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt adblocker because of that.
