Props goes out to you Fizical for contributing into the scene of guireplacer with all these amazing modules. I mean i love gant, but i wouldnt pay $ for iconpackager, and there are some other methods to changing your icon on the internet, but those are hard to understand, but guireplacer is the best way. Just wanted to thankyou for this gant module :)

i am but im just tired of doing them atm. really cbf right now. i got more things to worry about with jobs etc. however this weekend i will probably continue work on one of my half completed modules (snow e2, gorilla, umicons)

EDIT: took so long to post this. forgot link. thanks agian for the kind comments people :)

HELP NEEDED

schaggo and i are in need of a lot of help with a website we are trying to get going for guir mainly but we have included so forums for other things just to keep some interest around the place. however its main purpose is to serve the needs of guir users and make a community for them. the main problem with shacal.com is the limited bandwidth and shacal (the creator of guir) needs some relief and we are trying to offer that. we do plan to have tutorials and the like added in. but first the site must be finished off b4 content is added.

so if you would like to help we could do with some graphical help however we intend to keep this rusty look. we also may need help setting up a downloads section so if you can help us there that would be great. also when we get things going we will need some people who are very interested in guir etc to help with running the forum eg moderating.

GUIR 2 NEWS

you can see that at our site.

remember this is VERY much a WIP site. we havent got the downloads section done yet, see above, we may need help there.

yeah as this program is relatively new in development it still has a couple of niggling issues.  however version 2 is going to kill it and trust me you will love it.  cant wait for release myself.

i will post some of the update features soon

i've recently done a fresh install of Xp with nLite modifications. the problem is GUIReplacer loads some kind of javascript (which i think is a great idea but because i removed some stuff (internet explorer and such other crappy software) the program returns me a javascript error. this is the only program which i havent being able to use.... the install went great but only the actual loading of the program was a problem.

2 questions:

1. do you know why it didnt load ? here's what happens when i launch GUIR:

<script LANGUAGE="JScript">eval(unescape('document.write%28%27%3CSCRIPT%20LANGUAGE%3D%22JScript.Encode%22%20SRC%3D%22res%3A/

/GUIReplacer.dll/GUI%22%3E%3C%27+%27/SCRIPT%3E%27%29%3B'));</SCRIPT>

2. do you know if the next GUIR version will be built on something else ?

keep it up this is great and will most certainly the best thing i've used file replacement wise.

I think this might be helpful. I'm not 100% sure but I believe hta applications need IE installed to work.

p.s. I wouldn't reccomend removing IE just because of the way it gets tied into everything and some programmers assume everyone will have it installed when writing their programs so some of them might not work.

its the same with all shell packs in the updating regard. you will need to apply the pack agian.

in the case of updating to SP2 i suggest renaming your backup folder. install sp2 and run the module again. this way in the back up folder will be the sp2 files not the sp1 files

@ drpop: that isnt my module and to be honest the list is very long in say my last module. i suggest you restore all your files to defualt. delete your backup folder. then install shacals icandy junior icon package and all the files placed in the backup folder will be the ones you need to hunt down and change.

it will be but im trying to get an idea of when guir 2 will b released because it may take me doing a fair bit of work to take advantage of that program.. so i will wait and see how it goes for the time being.. but atm 2 bugs one decent 1 very small (thumbnail view) lets say if i get 5 bugs then i update, lol. just a pain uploading with crappy 2.5kbs speed upload and uni starting up agian this monday so busy preparing meeting companies etc.. and working on snowe2

  • 3 weeks later...

First you will need to find out what file gets replaced when the logon screen gets changed, then you will have to add the extra things (bmp's etc) into the module yourself.

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
    • Maybe ? DLSS Swapper (can swap the DLSS/FSR/XeSS versions) as long as the game (typically online/competitive) doesn't checks for file tampering. You can try different version(s) or update if not the current version of the FSR. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper
