i decided agains the log-on screen being added. i thought it may be an intrusive thing that some people may not want to have. that was my judgement and unlike devils pack you can choose what you install. in guir you cant. so i figured it would be better not to unclude such things.

uhmmm do you have any of this upload and tutorial how to have the login screen same ada the devils pack? but its actually guireplacer pack?

ifyou ahve downloaded devils then you can extract the logonui.exe file (well you ahve to extract all at once but yeah) and then replace it in the system32 folder. you might need a program called replacer to do that.. i did mine some time ago with a japanese theme and havent changed in a long time.

if you dont want to download devils pack then maybe some1 will ne nice enough to upload the logon for you.. if i find it on my computer i will upload :)

cheers

Alright Fizical. So then only need the "logonui.exe" ?? only that?? nothing else?

Anybody have this "logonui.exe" ??? please :)

I have replacer :) :shifty:

I was using Devil's Ocean shell pack, but when I updated Windows, being that they updated the shell32.dll, I ran into issues. My question is will that also happen w/ guireplacer?

after you updated windows, just run Guireplacer again, it will update new shell32.dll with appropriate resources.

1. i installed the module, rebuild the icon cache (many times) and there's still no change? do we have to install the module in SAFE mode?

2. when we installing another module, do we need to revert back to the default icons before installing or we can just install another one without losing the default windows icons?

- thanks!

@ kubix: has anything at all changed? check wordpad, notpad etc. if those icons are changing it means the module is working but tempremental and that if you donw have a recently updated system and wmp9 it cracks it and does a half arsed job. i tried many times to fix this but i couldnt work it out.

as for your second question well it would be best to revert back just because you will have some mixed icons possibly. gant2 module changes more icons then say the bluecurve. so if you dont revert back then you'll have a mix,

hmm.. totally there's nth changed. i have to replace it in SAFE mode?

may i know where are the backups?

axis how about you talk to the people running the site b4 you make such stupid allegations. its people like you who make me not want to make any more modules for the public. ungrateful knowalls such as yourself.

let me tell you one thing.. the site is not fully ready for release but due to people wanting it i have uploaded it there. niether myself or to my knowledge schaggo would have deliberately made it so you have to register to download. but you do have to register to post messages. the fact that you have to register to download was something we had never been informed aobut as we are both registered and never tested that. we are not trying to force people to register to increase the member count.

as if member count means anything anyway when there arent many posts.

so what do i think of you axis? i think your a ****ing ******** and you shoudlg et that ****ing poll out of your arse and stop being such a ****. you ****ing ungreatful ********.

haha, you spent all that time writing that and I still don't care. So you are going to stop making modules because you are upset that I mirrored a file you made people reg to dl? Hmm, seems like you have issues you need to look into. Anger managment is one of them, that and language. I really do love the icons and sorry I didn't mention that. You on the other hand, I dunno. Maybe you should step away from your computer, stop acting so tough on a computer and get some fresh air.

if you'd like to act tough in person if you ever in aus then let me know.

i never said i was angry for mirroring dont bring up such rediculous conclusions. i was angry cause you have a go at myself and schaggo for forcing registering. and as im not in charge of the download section or know any php i couldnt do much. i had tried to fix that and i couldnt find the setting for it.

but you went acusing right away without thinking maybe these people didnt have their site ready.. maybe they didnt realise they had forced registering on. i myself didnt as its not my area to work on and i was wondering why so many people registering at the forums.

im not gonna quit because of you, i never said i was. i said its people like you who make me want to. i spend hours on hours working on these things. i get a few good people who are nice and appreciate my effort and most are just using pricks who dont offer anything. all those people who said they would donate if i set something up.. where did those people go once i did set something up?

i get more critism then thanks as more and more people discover this program. i get a lot of stupid people like yourself who dont consider why things might be like that or dont bother to read the read me provided. i get the same bloody messages over and over again with the same errors.

and yeah i do have an anger problem.. with little pricks like yourself. most people im cool with but i have a problem with people who are so caught up in themself that the cant spare a thought for people who are offering things for others.

do we have advertising on the site? no. do i run around saying everyone come to the site? no. infact i dislike giving out the address to people. because the site is not ready and may never be but its all there is and there is **** all support from people like yourself in helping this community. this is a great program and unfortunately there are only a few people who give a crap about it and seeing it grow.

i hate this using society we live in. if you knew me you'd know once i finish my degree im spending my time helping the poor in china. because i hate people who do nothing but take. thats why i try to give to the community in what way i can. so i dont appreciate little ****s like you having a go saying stuff it "bull$hit"

i have no problem with people mirroring the program.. i only put it there to try and keep the constant questions of where it is from comming my way. ITS NOT MY PROGRAM PEOPLE when are you going to elarn this.. why dont people ever look at who its by. ask me for my themes.. thats my responsibility not the program.

i also find the users at this forum a lot less friendly then other forums. i have been at neowin for only 1 year but i check it most days and i really think its getting worse and worse. there isnt a community feel, its just a bunch of randoms. i still come here because there are a few good people still here but the numbers are decreasing.

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
