note: I did a search and didn't find one of these. Lots of my friends dont know how to use the composer, so I thought I'd share this with you guys.

mods: feel free to delete this.... or make it a sticky (ok, so maybe I'm dreaming) ;)

ok, so firstly: what is the nokia composer? well, it's the best way to get a ringtone in your phone for free. not all nokia models have one though...

well, the composer is really easy to use once you use it a few times. all you really need to know is this:

1 = c

2 = d

3 = e

4 = f

5 = g

6 = a

7 = b

8 = increase first number

9 = decrease first number

* = increase/decrease last number

# = insert hash

0 = space

and hold down the number to insert a dot

but maybe your like me and need things explained in heaps of detail for it to make sense. so, this is how you turn all that mumbo-jumbo up there into a ringtone.

when you see a ringtone code, the code will look something like this: 4b2. this bit of code equals one beep.

the first number (4) represents the duration of the beep: the higher the number, the shorter the duration.

the middle letter (b) equals the pitch of the beep. see the bold list above: c is the lowest pitch, b is the highest.

the last number (2) equals the level of the pitch. 1 is the lowest, 3 is the highest.

but hold on! what if the code looks like this: 4.b2? well the 4,b, and 2 part are still the same. but the . makes the beep slightly longer.

ok, but what about if the code looks like this: 4#g2? again the 4, g, and 2 part are the same. but the # makes that pitch slighty higher.

what if the code is both of these 4.#g2? well it means both of of the above.

:D happy coding
