Mines still a bit of a work in progress - I'm happy enough with the left side of it (the pic of John Robinson), because well for a start it's John Robinson :) and secondly that screen usually has an app that's maximised, so I usually only see that part of the desktop if I [Ctrl] + [D] or if my machine's restarting.

As for the right hand side - I really need to update the layout so that it uses images from Prisoner of Azkaban, rather than The Chamber of Secrets. The right hand side is an ActiveDesktop, which uses standard HTML and a few bits of PHP. Most of the navigation links are hidden, they only display when you click on a specific part of the screen.

Anyways, enough technical mumbo jumbo, here it is:

I used to have this below, but that's on my desktop, and at the moment it has as much use as a door stop since it's dead. So i am on my Dell 8600 laptop, not complaning, it has a higher res WIDESCREEN monitor than my TFT. :D

Got to love Alessandra Ambrosio thou :D

Hi, i wanted to ask with regards to Dark_ph0enix's desktop, I would be highly interested in finding out the coding etc is done to create that effect, and what the process is for setting up an active desktop the way you have it.

Or is there any links on the web that show you how to do such things?

I'd appreciate any responses.

Here's mine, I can't find a working link for the visual style CoolXP3 except for the one at Themexp.org, which is now full of adware and spyware, so I'm not gonna direct link to it.

The wallpaper is wpbullet from PCLinuxOS Live-CD.

DesktopX is used for weather and icon enhancement. the icons are a mishmash from all over, but the DOOM.png can be found here

    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
