Windows Services for Unix 3.5

Hi,

could someone please tell me what Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX is? From what i've read, it is a software that makes unix apps run natively under Windows OS. Did i get that right? I have some problems to believe that. Could i install, say, KOffice or any other app in my native Windows environment?

it sounds like wine but reversed. Are you familar with cygwin? it sounds a lot like cygwin.

edit: i've never used it, but i read the little preview on the link you posted, and it sounds like you've got it right.

that's really bloody odd.

I went to the link, and it didn't work. So I searched google, which gave me the exact same link... which worked.

I don't mean that it just 404ed me.. Microsoft said the page wasn't there!

If you scroll down to post #31, you can see how SFU can be combined with Desktop-X to run X based apps within Windows.
