About to revolutionise neowin

Ok ive been working on this for about 10mins now with excellent result...

I've managed to connect with neowin and extract currently logged in user, latest news & postcount with more coming soon - next I plan to include PM integration etc, with an inbox/outbox and you can store unlimited pms by downloading them from server to store them locally...

Lots of other cool idea im thinking up by the minute, will post some screenshots here soon and looking for neat ideas and a cool name - nw|assistant does seem a bit plain :happy:

this could turn into an EXTREMELY cool application :rofl:

i also dont see any reason to gain admin support before making this application - im not doing anything disallowed or suchlike, although I would like to co-operate with the mods with this application...

Fredde87 - at the moment, it can check for neowin PMs constantly and will display a popup telling you about your received pm, even if the neowin page is closed, i hope to add support for reading the PMs themselves once i have analyzed the IPB source...

Wouldnt that put a huge strain on the server bandwidth?

(especially if a lot of people use it)

it'd hafta be set at a variable time to check for PM's...and i'd hafta be fast...its not like it'd be hitting the server 100% constantly...ya kno?

yea have it user changeable.

its unlikely that someone will hit the server at the exact same time...but not impossible.
