,Jul 2 2004, 13:14] How about this:

(and glad to see so much support for this app )

What is the point of this?

I already know I have 18,000+ posts.

If i want to be notfied of a Private Message while i'm on the board all I need is to set a Preference in my USER CP.

Personally I find this application a waste of time.

it'd hafta be set at a variable time to check for PM's...and i'd hafta be fast...its not like it'd be hitting the server 100% constantly...ya kno?

Well he did say "constantly", which isnt the same as "every 5 mins or so" :p

First screenshots look cool though :)

well i must admit im not completely sure of the point of this app right now either

im just experimenting with applicationising (is that a word?) parts of the forum and maybe building an advanced PM system etc...

also - you dont need to be on the forums for this app to notify you of your PMs...

at the moment, it can check for neowin PMs constantly and will display a popup telling you about your received pm, even if the neowin page is closed, i hope to add support for reading the PMs themselves once i have analyzed the IPB source...

Joel...

I know that however I always check my email every few mins. and I can sent if desired to be notified by PM of a Private Message. I don't need another application to tell me so.

Also i'm on the boards quite often and I also have the option of a pop-up window as well for PM's.

Finally knowing about my post count doesn't really matter all that much that I need an application to tell me..

Just coz u peronally wudnt use it doesnt mean no one else would. I'm not usually on the forums long enough to constantly check for PM's. Sometimes i wont get one til days after I recieved it. So having this app workin in the background on my machine cud be a good idea. Good Work [Jon]!
