Game server behind proxy

Anyone know how i can setup a game server (particularly a Descent 3 server, but i suppose the concepts apply to most games) behind a proxy server? I'm using wingate right now...and i'm supposing i have to map ports somehow, but i'm clueless. :D

is there a good tutorial on this subject somewhere?
