I'm not able to install any extensions with 6/21 by drag and drop or downloading/install.

There is talk in the nightly builds forums at mozilla that there is a bug causing this problem. Nightlys are what bangbang023 uses to make his builds so his would have the problem too. Should be worked out in a few days or so, maybe less. But just wanted to let you know this is a known problem and is being worked on.

Yeah I figured it was known. I just didn't want to look through the mozilla forums. Thanks for the info

Hey BangBang,

It's a good work that you do here,

But I just have a trouble actually,

When I try to download a file it says:

"the <file path> could not be saved, becuse the source file cannot be read

Try again or contact the server administrator"

But when I go in IE (Via the IE plugin) it's load normally.

Exit Firefox, delete files "compreg.dat" and "downloads.rdf" from your profile folder (located at C:\Documents and Settings\_USER_NAME_\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ by default), restart Firefox.

^ The menus on normal Firefox don't interpret the XP theme interface. That's one aspect.

If you want to fix it you'll need ChromeEdit. I assume it works in Deer Park Alpha 1 - might not though. I haven't used any Deer Park Alpha extensions so I don't know.

And add this to UserChrome.css:

/* Make menus XP style */
menupopup, popup {
? border: 1px solid ThreeDShadow !important;
? -moz-border-left-colors: ThreeDShadow !important;
? -moz-border-top-colors: ThreeDShadow !important;
? -moz-border-right-colors: ThreeDShadow !important;
? -moz-border-bottom-colors: ThreeDShadow !important;
? padding: 2px !important;
? background-color: Menu !important;
}
menubar > menu {
? border: 1px solid transparent !important;
? padding: 2px 5px 2px 7px !important;
? margin: 0 !important;
}
menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"] {
? background-color : Highlight !important;
? color: HighlightText !important;
}
/* Code Ends Here */

Just a way to make the menus take on the XP interface.

I talked top Neobond over MSN and he was talking about how the staff drop down boxes (members can't see them) are lacking a border. We're pretty sure it's a minor Neowin issue and not Fx's fault.

the lackof border on dropdown's not a neowin issue... happens in google and all other sites and happens only in deerpark builds.

nice to know download bug is fixed i had to go back 6/21 build because of that

Are you sure it's not a Neowin issue? It works fine on almost every other site.

I've always found some little bugs (they're probably not bugs but features) that Mozilla Firefox has:

1. The drop down (actually drop up) box at the bottom of Neowin to select which forum to go to is quite high.

2. The search buttons on Google and several other sites are smaller than those of IE.

    • One of reasons why they have so much infrastructure available is that severely overestimated how many people would be using Grok.
    • No updated SSD capacity, no updated specs (not surprised tbf), just nostalgia baiting! Bring back the boot sequence and the UI as an easter egg!
    • Why? It will just cost so much more and make you PC poor and they become PC rich off your calamities! “Just because you can” isn’t a flex either!.
    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
