Neowin Official Counter-Strike 1.6 Server

Recommended Posts

Source server is up @ 208.207.102.77

I'll have dns setup soon (neowin.gtw.net) and also change the hostname to Neowin if you like so you can filter by name in the list. I know some people have trouble connecting by IP.

Anyway, do some ping/tracert's and let me know.

Ok I PMed dL to add it to the front page.

I really hope this server gets popular.

Added :)

Please provide more information regarding the server.

I'll notify the admin to rename the title.

Also, are we going to get a Westcoast 1.6 server by any chance?

dL

i say forget about trying to set up a cs:source server until the final game comes out. whats the point? your just gonna have to reset it all up again when the final comes out, and soon enough this beta will be closed.

Yeah, when I run the server in debug mode, it says that it can't set ulimit:operation not permitted

I don't have root access, but I think ulimit has something to do with file descriptors, and there must be a way to bypass setting ulimit.

The nix server is still a buggy mess. Run on a windows box for now. ;)

Appears that many are running into all kinds of headaches. Some hypothesize that it is a glib issue but even that does not work for most. What kernel/glib are you running?

Mine runs perfectly on Win2K3.

I have been getting several complaints about random non neowin members using the server as a practise server or try-outs server for their clan. Anyone caught doing this without asking will be banned immediatly. We have the names and IP's of 4 people doing this and we will be contacting the admins to find out if they infact are members. Those members will be banned from the server. These people have been asking other players to leave while they practice. Any member that has seen this behaviour go on in the server please contact me on MSN ASAP.

I apologize. I am very sorry. I have asked players to spectate while having a 1on1 match with a friend. They listened and went spec.. I did that before you posted that warning. I hope I am not banned from the server. I won't do it again. I know you didn't give a warning about 1on1 matches but I know what you mean. :(

I did that once last month.

Please list the name of you and other other person you had 1 on 1 with.

I can only list my name. Not the person I had the match with because I forgot their name, and am I going to be banned?

You gave the warning recently.. I did that last month and I won't do it again. I am now aware of the consequences.

CSname: Anaron

:hmmm:

No but we are watching you now. If you would liek to set up a time for a private 30 min 1 on 1 match please contact us and we may allow it if the server isn't busy.

You forgot the name of your friend?

Last time I had a match with him was a month ago. I play CS alot and I don't keep people's names in my head. And Liquid, no need for that. I won't be having 1on1 matches on the Neowin CS 1.6 server. :|

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
