My iPod Shuffle is being shipped as we speak.  I should have it in my hands on Wednesday at the earliest! :p

I'll post some pictures and possibly a review if I get the time.

Thats good. My Mac mini is going to supposivly take 3-4 weeks to get here. I hope to god it doesn't take that long and Apple delivers in a shorter time span. Yet the demand for them is outrageous right now. At work we recieved about 50-60, and they were gone in about a half-hour. Apple employees aren't allowed to buy the Mac mini shipments that come in right now due to the customer demand. Atleast at my store anyways.

Does anybody think that I'll receive TWO ipods? :shifty:

There was nothing stopping me from changing the quantity of promo iPods at the online store... could I have purchased more iPods at halfprice?

cman yep that's right. They're the new PB's. This will be my first Mac but I have emulated Panther on Windows (if that counts); PearPC. I haven't used a Mac thoroughly though, besides the occasional iMac and eMac use at school and uni. I'm an Apple fan though! (20GB iPod 4th gen owner). :)

Be sure to post pictures. ;)

Or maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe he was saying 'I haven't touched an Apple all my life.' And since he was born before the creation, it counts? I don't know, that's what my head told me when I read it.

I will post pictures of my new G5, soon. Just got it yesterday.

My PAURbook is free at last.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post pictures here, but I think it should be okay.

My PB arrived two hours ago but I had to go and deliver the 20GB iPod that came with it (I purchased the Cram and Jam promotion, $200 rebate when buying a PB and iPod together). So I've had a chance to unwrap my baby and get it up and running (registration, account info, etc).

It's simply beautiful!

I've attached one picture out of many that I've taken, I'll post more up if you guys want but it's nothing you haven't seen before. I'll be back in a few hours (or tomorrow) because I want to do a bit of transferring files, etc. I don't have the Internet on the PB so I'll have to make do for now. (I only have dialup at home).

A few things that I noticed:

- It came preinstalled with OS X 10.3.7. I was about to download the Combo Update! (on dialup!)

- I don't have a SuperDrive but it came with iLife '05 preinstalled with iDVD 5 and GarageBand 2. (Is this supposed to happen? I thought I only got the CD version preinstalled. Doesn't matter!).

- The recovery CD's (OS X and OS9) were both DVDs... I was expecting a couple of CD's!

In a sentence: I simply love my PB. It's fantastic! Currently taking it's first charge... :D

My Mac mini was "Partially Shipped". The Wireless keyboard and mouse should be here tomorrow. Yet that does me no good lol. Im still waiting for the Mac mini to be shipped.

Only the 15" and 17" models come with backlit keyboards. So no, mine doesn't have the backlighting. Truth be told, within 20 minutes of usage I managed to freeze the computer! (I'm not kidding). I inserted the Mac OS X DVD (just to check it out) and had System Preferences open - I was trying to change my trackpad settings. It stopped responding but I was able to move the cursor around. I didn't know how to "ctrl-alt-del" so I rebooted it... I don't know what went wrong!

It is running fine now, I haven't been able to do much with it (no Internet, I won't have the Internet on it for a while, until I get broadband). Other than the slight hiccup, it's fantastic! I only have to go back onto the PC for the Internet (for the time being). :)

    • Apple unveils Siri AI, a "reimagined" version of SIri by David Uzondu Image via Apple Today, at the opening keynote of Apple's annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), the company announced Siri AI, a "reimagined version" of its voice assistant that runs on Apple Intelligence. Siri AI helps you do things like draft messages, edit photos, and pull old flight details from your email during back-and-forth conversations. You can access Siri AI through several methods, depending on the device. While "Hey Siri" remains active, iPhone users can also press the side button, swipe down from the Dynamic Island, or use a system-wide context menu on Mac to analyze on-screen text. Image via Apple If you ever need to go back and check previous interactions, you can open the dedicated Siri app to view your entire conversation history. This application privately syncs your data using iCloud, leveraging local Foundational Models alongside Apple's secure Private Cloud Compute servers to keep user data inaccessible to outsiders. On the iPhone, Apple built the assistant into the Camera app, bringing Visual Intelligence to help you split bills or count calories. This feature also expands to the iPad and Mac, letting users use screenshots or shortcuts to analyze images, while Apple Vision Pro users can ask questions about objects in their physical room. Other things to know about Siri AI include systemwide dictation that automatically handles punctuation and formatting, customizable voice speeds, and a spatial 3D interface built for Apple Vision Pro. Apple also added Smart Stack suggestions on the Apple Watch to help you continue recent conversations directly from your wrist. The road to Siri AI was quite bumpy for Apple, which initially promised these capabilities at WWDC 2024 when the Cupertino tech giant debuted Apple Intelligence. Apple later turned to Google, signing a $1 billion annual deal to use Gemini models instead of relying solely on its own in-house systems. However, this deal came only after consumers sued Apple because features Apple promised "did not exist at the time, do not exist now, and will not exist for two or more years." Siri AI is available for developer testing on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and visionOS 27.
    • Real shame the 16 GB versions are crazy more expensive than this.
    • Making me care less about LibreOffice with every tantrum they throw.
    • And within the EU all this Siri AI stuff will probably work around 2030 and the IPhone 25 🤣
