Your Mac Hardware Setup

Monkeyclaw, you got my desk, only it looks much cleaner in your picture. Cleaned it off right before Christmas, before that I could barely see the actual surface. Still got a little bit of rearranging to do, but I'm currently out of town, so I can't fnish until later.

Actually it was Staples, lol. My rents got it for me for Christmas. Its an amazing desk, I'm hoping to take it to college if it will fit in my dorm, lol.

Awesome, I just looked at it online at Staples...great desk, but I am not sure I want to pay that price.

I will go and check it out in store this weekend.

nice, some pics in action please!

The pics above were taken in CO. It is being shipped here (FL) as we speak, as the airline will not insure electronics against damage in transit. I will post pics of the whole setup as soon as I have it here.

This is my first post in this thread. :D The LCD Tv/pc moniter is a temp. solution until I save up to get a really nice big screen. I also need a desk desperately need a desk.

trade me one of your ipods!

I think I'm going to sell them so I can be reimbursed for my ipod video :D, now if you have one of those we can talk

mrelusive978: Congrats! Those are extremely nice, are they able to mount on the wall?

For an additional $30, you can get a VESA compliant mounting bracket, and with that you can mount it to a wall, an articulating armature, or any other VESA compliant flat panel mount.

    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
