Your Mac Hardware Setup

Oh yeah, you're the one who knows I was gonna buy a 20" :p Well the 24" made me change my idea a little, so here are its specs :

IMAC 24/2.16 CTO

2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB

NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600 GT w/256

250GB Serial ATA Drive

SuperDrive 8X (DVDR-DL/CD-RW)

Kybd, Mighty Mse & Mac OS X

Country Kit

I might as well post some benchmarks of it in both Mac OS X and Windows. For now, all I think about is Xbench and 3dMakr 2006, maybe you guys could give me a few other ideas.. ;)

I don't know why they didn't offer a french keyboard though... it shocked me a little :( Unless the KB is a US International one, I will buy another one. They only had the Wireless one in french, and... for god's sake, I HATE WIRELESS, except in SOME devices.

I've saved my money since August 1 and it's gonna be paid in like 1 or two months again - I started school last week! I think I couldn't get a better deal though, I find the price simply awesome. To all of those who think it's a lot of money (and a waste), just look at the specs and look at the features, I think it's really worth it.

I know what you mean by wireless man. I bought the apple wireless keyboard. What a mistake. While I love the fact that it doesn't have wires to get in the way.. the performance is god awful. I get noticeable lag often. The batteries die too quickly too. Oh well whatever.

That's a great system you've got there. I ordered mine yesterday - I got the 20" but upgraded to 2.33GHz, 256mb VRAM and 2gb RAM. I'm also planning to post some benchmarks and a bit of a review; it will be interesting to compare our benchmarks and see how much different the performance is.

By the way, what's a country kit?

For a second, I was wondering who asked what a country kit was because I didn't know myself and I was like WTF. If it's a french KB, then good thing, I wanted one and they didn't give me the choice, so I had an english one x_x

About the wireless, it's not really that I'm not impressed by the speed, but the fact that we cannot recharge a Lithium-Ion battery's killing me - even Logitech's mice have Li-Ion batteries - and I am concerned by the health problems it could cause. Adding wireless everywhere IMO is a big mistake, we don't know if it causes cancer or other cellular diseases.

OMG man, we have the same speakers :D

You're using an optical cable to plug all the 5 speakers, right?

nope, only got a lowly iBook, as I said, only PC I have. But when I bring my PS2 in to watch I movie I hook the digital up to it, yes.

Looks really warm, iigloo. What camera do you use? I think it's a good camera, the quality is great.

Oh and this from your Flickr account

Looks like you live in a jungle! The view from your windows is so wonderful!!

I use a Konica Minolta Dynax 5d, and yes, It's a really good camera, it's too bad Konica Minolta stopped making cameras.

:D I don't live in a jungle, haha, but there is this little forest outside so it can feel like that sometimes, especially in the summer when everything is all green.

didn't Konica Minolta get bought out by Sony?

Yep and pretty cheap too. Only thing is that if u notice it suffers from the backlight inverter failure issue that the old studio displays had. So I am going to have to dish out bout 60 or 70 bucks for a new one sooner or later.

    • I agree when are you going to read this (really poor BTW) article?
    • I disagree; they come off very "bitchy" and "whiny". Make a great product and combine that with a great price (free) and people will come over to your side. Or build it and they will come as they say. Constantly trying to get attention by complaining all the time, will turn people off to your product.
    • It use to be a nightmare, with LibreOffice supporting a newer draft ODF standard by default, and Microsoft Office supporting the older non-draft standard. Now that they both support the same version of ODF, they should be interoperable.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.171 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. • Hi. As the title suggests, I can't access the forum on my phone. I'm using Edge on Android and when I try to navigate to the forum I get a "we value your privacy" popup and none of the buttons are clickable. It effectively stonewalls me from reading any forum content.
