Full front, side, diagnol - so sort of looking up from the bottom right to the top left, just so we can see the size, i really need to see this in person. I never thought the 20" looked that big untill i saw it in person, i can only imagine how big this is.

ok I'll take them when I've finished this little bit of work I have.

Thanks mate, really looking forward to these. We have an Apple Reseller near me and they never get in new stock till about 3 weeks after they are released.

Sorry about the image quality, only bedroom light on. Will take them during the day but it will be at the weekend due to Uni!

New additions: Samsung 32" LCD, Imac 24".

No I don't see the point either... least I can tell the girls I have over 70 inches in the bedroom :no: .

Man that looks very sweet! Would you my sharing your experience with the tft-panel in the new Imac 24"? I'm thinking in regard to.

- Backlight bleed? if any.

- Compared to the Cinema displays (if possible)

- Dead pixels?

- Effective viewing angle

- Backlight homogenity? brighter/darker in the corners?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated, as i am planning on getting one if the panel-quality i equal to or very close to that of the ACD's.

To be fair, I bought it before they one on show at my local Apple store First in Manchester to own one :) ! Therefore I never got the chance to compare it with any real detail towards the ACD's. As for dead pixels there is indeed the one which isn't 'dead' but just in a constant state of bright green, which is only really noticable when surrounded by a black backdrop (most noticable on the front row menu). That was there from the very outset though (Saturday) and I haven't noticed any new ones develop since, so I deem that acceptable.

Viewing angle is very good, if not brilliant. I find it to be almost 170 degrees if not more. I guess it's subjective however as to what is deemed 'viewable'. i can pretty much read the text on the far side of the screen when looking almost across the screen as it where, It's better that my TV anyway.

Backlight homogenity, not noticed any major differences as it where. Apart from:

Backlight Bleed; I have quite a major bleed towards the top right of the screen with an almost yellow appearance, apart from that it is remarkably low. This doesn't concern me 'too' much, the only noticable thing is when in the dark. This for me is not often, hence the lack of a problem.

Well if its a stuck pixel, you can sometimes fix those on your own by gently rubbing the pixel and in some cases by getting a program that will cycle green blue and red. Also sax, read Apple's dead or stuck pixel policy, I'm not sure what it says but if there is a certain number, they will replace it. And if I were you, get one in the store because you can always ask to inspect it before they sell it to you. I've done that before just to insure there were no dead pixels on my PowerBook.

But like I said, it is possible to repair a stuck pixel on your own, I would though look at a tutorial because I have never had to so I am in no way experienced, lol.

Thanks man, i really appreciate it. And thank you for the backlight pics. :) Now i'm really in doubt whether i should get it or not. I guess i'll need to do so seroius pro's/con's contemplating. As i see it the only thing holding me back is the panel. But it's hard to judge if the problem you've demostrated are noticable in normal lighting?

Humm the thing is i dont really have an Apple shop near me and the reseller i have near me doesnt expect the NUS discount. I have been looking around and the backlight bleeding seems to be a problem with a few people. I will try and sort out a trip to the apple shop to get it :)

If its a serious problem, Apple support (at least in the store) is pretty flexible. The chances of having a bad iMac are pretty slim compared to the chances of having one that is perfectly fine. I'd say go for it and if for some reason there is an issue with yours, then contact Apple.

      Microsoft releases Visual Studio Code 1.124 with smarter autonomous AI agents by Paul Hill Microsoft has just released Visual Studio Code 1.124 with a focus on faster agent workflows and improved agent autonomy. Microsoft outlined the following features as the key items in this update: Autopilot: Autopilot, enabled by default, is now smarter to determine when a task is truly done. Background sessions: Quickly send a request in the background and keep composing the next session. Session navigation: Search, jump, and step through agent sessions with the keyboard. Browser history: Revisit and search pages you've already opened in the integrated browser. With VS Code 1.124, Microsoft has enabled Autopilot by default. For those that don’t know, Autopilot is a chat permission level that you can pick to give agents permission to take initiative and act autonomously, without needing explicit user approval for each action. Also related to Autopilot, Microsoft introduced Advanced Autopilot, which changes how Autopilot decides when to keep iterating and when to finish. This helps you get more complete results without manually monitoring loops. This feature works using a small utility model that reads a transcript of the chat and decides when the task is done. Another new feature in 1.124 is the Agents window, which lets you easily explore, iterate on, and review agent sessions across projects and machines. Previously, starting a new agent session meant waiting for it to load before you could compose the next one. With this update, sessions can be requested in the background. This VS Code update also brings session navigation updates to switch between them more quickly. The update also lets you reload or reopen the Agents window so that it no longer loses your layout, so you will land back where you left off. If you use the integrated browser in VS Code, you will notice that it now retains the history of visited pages. Suggestions will now show when typing in the URL bar and can be managed by using Ctrl+H within a browser tab. The browser now also lets you customize the toolbar more; just right-click on the toolbar area to the right of the URL input. Finally, the browser has faster agentic text entry. Another improvement is experimental enterprise-managed Copilot plugin policies that allow admins to centrally control which chat plugins and plugin marketplaces are available to developers. If you have VS Code installed, 1.124 should install automatically, or you'll get a prompt. If you don't have it installed, get it here.
