That external case you have for hard drives, where can I lay my hands on one of those, would do ideally for what I need.

Here you are my mom's lime iMac G3 400 running Mac OS X 10.3.9...

He has 192 MB of RAM and swaps alot but I already ordered 512 MB to

have a total of 640MB of RAM... do you suggest me to stay with Panther

or upgrade to Tiger?

I heard that upgrading to Tiger may bring some trouble, but should you have a copy at home, try to install it...

Battery has lasted 2 months so far, at this moment battery capacity is around 80% - Don't hesitate if your looking to buy one.

I got this one from a friend as a trade for a single drive enclosure (he didnt want to mess with finding an AT power supply for it); you can find them on Newegg by searching for RAID or multi disk enclosures. Make sure you get one that supports RAID, that way you can have redundacy for critical data. Personally, I use three of the disks for storage, and I will be using one for Time Machine.

Does that iMac have FireWire? You need that to install Tiger. And yeah, it will run allright on that. Not fantastic, but if I could watch the iPhone keynote on a 333 iMac with Panther, I think it would be allright on your iMac...just get PCIExtreme so you can enable quartz extreme.

    • I just started using Teams (and “New” Oiutlook) at work (instead of Slack) and both are truly abysmal pieces of software.
