So how do you work with just the .dll file?

Is there a simpler way than having to manually set up each icon to the icon you want? from the .dll file by selecting? Is there not a tool or a method to make XP think that it has to use all the icons in this .dll instead of the one that came with it?

Thank you for your help! :)

Alex

how can i get them out of the dll for use on a dock ??

try Axialis IconWorkshop 5.0 - thats what I used to edit them :) The icons only go up to 48x48 though, so I'm not sure if they would look as good if used with a dock.

And all those people who do not know how to use the dll, it's just like using a normal icon - when selecting the icon that you want to replace an original, browse for the dll and select the icon. if that didn't make much sense, try google.

oh, and if you have any more Longhorn icons I can use please PM me :)

Erm, how do i install them? All thats in the Zip in a readme, an image and a dll. What do i do? :p

:) see my post on the second page of this topic (third post from the bottom).

I really should include instructions with the readme... I'll do that next release :)

Thanks everyone for all your great feedback so far :)

I'm having a bit of trouble finding more icons for another release. If you have Longhorn or more Longhorn icons I could use please don't hesitate to PM me or add me to MSN. Of course I'll give you credit if you contribute...

I have just updated the Longhorn Icons set it is now v1.0c.

Changes: I have added 4 new icons and the read me now comes with instructions on how to use the icons and the .dll file.

See my first post for more info and the new download link :)

and again, please don't hesitate to PM me if you have more Longhorn icons I can add to the set.

I actually do think the Windows icons are getting better. The original one's were, in one word, sh*t - the XP icons are much better... not the best but a very big improovement - and I think the Longhorn icons are phucking fantastic. Atleast Microsoft is getting one thing right...

I just updated the Longhorn Icons set. It is now v1.0d.

Changes: I have added 3 new icons; Paint, E-mail and Set Program Access and Defaults. Special thanks to Krezno who contributed all three of these new icons. (Y)

See my first post for more info and download.

and again, please don't hesitate to PM me if you have more Longhorn icons that you can contribute. :)
