help! too many processes running on comp?

on the windows task manager where it tells how many procsses u have running along with CPU usage and etc. etc...well i have 76 processes running it says...and i think it makes my computer slow down a whole lot! what can i do about this?

hmm..scan for ad ware, malware, and viruses...and go to start -> run -> msconfig -> "startup" tab and uncheck everything you don't need....then see if it's any better

i have 17 running and that includes trillian, mirc, opera, winamp and the task manager... so yeah, 76 is a bit much.

i do have ad-aware and Spyware Doctor to clean up sum things..but it still like that

it just shows you what services in your operating system you can disable, which would lower the number of processes running...to put it simply..and it's not THAT hard to figure out...

ok yea i followed that and diasabled which ones said to do...bud nothing changed...when i open the services on my computer i have like 80 different things on there...is that not right too?

Did you just disable them cause you would have to stop them first and then disable them for it to show up without restarting.

did you actually go and do the msconfig thing? cuz you can get rid of some of those just by doing that...unless you want to keep them.

run spybot and ad-aware then reboot and get back to us, what you have running still

and after you update the ad-ware reference file and run it, let us know how many iffected

processes it said you had.

You've got a lot of spyware running on your system, I suggest you to download either Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy and perform a full system scan with them to clean everything. (Y)
