Do you guys remember Longhorn misunderstanding?

Recommended Posts

Since lou_dude88 has posted in https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=166144 I wonder why ppl get so excited so much and posted something like "awesome theme!" or something. I released them before but didn't have great feedback as posts in here. Is it because they don't know those're my works? My friend told me I have bad reputation. I wonder why. It seems like I have many foes in here like scabo2 or someone like him. Even my old friend, Cin|Ful, he lost respect from me from something I don't know. I know I suppose not to post something like this but I curiously want to know before I leave.

Well don't mean to rub it in but since you asked ....

Whenever someone makes a Longhorn-esque theme, you always seem to create some sort of arguement in the creators thread.

E.g. "You ripped graphics from my Longhorn Msstyles" or "That looks simlar to my Msstyles", or something to that extent.

When also the member has proved that they have no ripped your Msstyle.

^ That's the type of reputation which doesn't go well here.

Radish?

maybe it was that crap between you and flyakite. but good work nonetheless.

flyakite? I can't think how I could have problems with him. All I remember is I asked him to make installer for him, he appreciated but he'll make his own for some reason, I tried to ask him more for his reason, he replied with acceptable answer. That's all.

erm, everyone here likes ur work

I generally don't. I like things like Nano and Longhorn Inspiriat, styles that try new things and do it well. WindowsXalways seemed to me like he wanted to be the first to get every type of longhorn theme out and then got angry if someone else wanted to do a version too.

Only one person I really have a deal with is ANDYLOGO. He used to rip it from my work and many clues can prove it. The rest? I never say anything like accusing or flaming for rip at all. I remember only two person. Ortega, I saw my shellstyle over his first shot so I assumed he may use my Slate to mod. I gave him a compliment like great mod from my work. Little tuneup would be perfect alternate Slate. It seems like Ortega didn't have any problem with it but some members were trying to pick this up and knock me! Corporel Clegg, I just want to say he used my new Slate to mod but all that happened is same as Ortega's case. Problems I'm facing is not ripping between I and author but pretending "RIP" from members! They acted like I'm accusing the author about ripping my work but the truth is I never even think of it except ANDYLOGO's case. They're many guys who want to get me down from here. I'm tired and so bored of it.

You're wrong, Raum. I'm not like you're thinking at all. If you believe that's real, show me your proof. You shouldn't prejudge from what you haven't seen.

I love your themes, as I love most of the themes created here on neowin. Everyone has real talent here, I only wish I could release something that looked as good as most of this stuff.

Since this seems to be an emotional thread, I'd like to apologize for ressurecting an old thread a few days ago :( I used the search function and wasn't checking dates.. BUT ANYWAY back to the point, your themes rock, keep them coming ;)

Edit: Windows X has helped me with every question I PMed to him. He's a very helpful and understanding person.

??? I was telling you the impression ou give me, my opinion of you, I don't need proof for that, just like how I don't need to prove to you that pepperonni pizza is better than mushroom pizza. I'm not prejudging from what I haven't seen, I'm judging from what I have seen. I judged the way you theme, I never judged you as a person, so 1. I am judging your theming from what I have seen and 2. No need to get so defensive.

You said I really want to be first in everything about Longhorn and will get angry if someone make a version too. I don't like your post. Straightly, I'll get angry with only posts like this. So I need proof how could you think of something like this.

god shut up who cares.  you can't have everyone like you all the time and threads like this make you look like a self important whiner which doesn't help your case at all.

Didn't want to sound rude but I prettymuch agree. This is a computer customization forum, not therapy corner.

X, I thought I made it clear. I'm not gonna go on a scavenger hunt for proof for you because I just don't care either way. I didn't post to convinceanyone of anything, just to share my opinion.

This is horrible. In the time that I have been visiting Neowin.net I have noticed one thing about you WindowsX. I do like some of your work, however, no matter where you go/post, there always seems to be a big "issue" surrounding you. Either you are mad, or someone is mad at you for whatever stupid reason. You threaten to leave all the time and always claim that you are going to "take breaks" because your work is not appreciated. Maybe the reason you get so much negative feedback is because it seems like you make a new post daily saying that "look at this, i was toying around, tell me what you think." In such screenshots that you post, there is very little change in any of the work displayed. After some time, I can see how this would easily become annoying to some. So..... if you are going to continue to post your work, make some changes and be slightly more original in your designs. Thats my take on it.

** Also, stop being such a cry baby

WindowsX I just think you think far too much of yourself, really just because you make some Longhorn inspired themes doesn't make you the be all and end all. Seriously, get over your self.

edit: And those little girls you have on your desktop freak me out - even if they are a form of art they really do resemble 12 year old girls :x

I know but I have a bit too much flames in short period. And that makes ppl who used to believe me lost their trust. I'll ignore it as usual if anything is all right but it isn't.

That's why I need to talk. You think I want to own everything about Longhorn and that's not true. I'm always facing crisis when I want to post something in Longhorn thread. Though it's just a normal post but someone may dig it up for flame like past. I'll get depress if I want to say something about Longhorn theme because I'm afraid of post after me maybe flame. It used to be like this for ages and I think I can't hold it any longer.

For anime sitter, search in google with love hina window sitter and get it.

WindowsX you can own Longhorn, as I'm sure it'll be the same sh!t microsoft has been pumping out since 1985. If you're feeling depressed about the comments on this board either take it on the chin and continue to make your themes or take a break, but making threads like this is lame. Think of the bigger picture though, peoples comments on this board mean JACK ALL, just ignore them if they pee you off.

I've been reading these forums for ages but only recently signed up. I appreciate the talents of all the artists/programmers/ etc that frequent these boards, but I have to say to WindowsX : Dude, I see the talents you have but for the love of god, leave the 16yo teen angst, the world is out to get me crap at home and do what you do best.

    • Latest Rufus update improves new Windows 11 install method by Taras Buria Pete Batard, the maker of Rufus, a very popular app for creating bootable Windows (and other OS) media, has released a new beta version of its app. Rufus 4.15 beta is now out, and while it offers no new features, there are all sorts of improvements and fixes, including for the new Windows 11 installation method that was introduced in version 4.14 in early May. The "Silent Windows 11 installation" is a new feature whose goal is to automate operating system installation. All you have to do is boot from the drive, and then Rufus takes over, doing all things for you, such as setting up a new account, skipping ads and prompts, and more. It is a very handy tool, but initially, it had some bugs and issues that required addressing. With version 4.15 beta, Rufus is fixing that, particularly a bug with installation failing at 75%, crashes on Snapdragon X-based PCs, and more. Here is the changelog: Rufus 4.15 beta is now available for download from its GitHub repository. If you have never used Rufus before, you can check out our guide here. It is a very useful utility to have, as it allows you to deal with plenty of Windows 11's annoyances, which are still there, despite Microsoft's ongoing efforts to fix them.
    • Microsoft fixes one of Excel Copilot's most frustrating limitations by Usama Jawad Microsoft began integrating Copilot into Excel a couple of years ago and has been upgrading it with new functionalities since then. While some changes have been controversial, Microsoft is hoping to win over users by allowing them to be more productive via Copilot. To that end, it has now announced a Copilot improvement that may actually be appreciated by people who use it regularly. Excel customers often use the Copilot prompt box to issue instructions to format and customize their data, but it can become quite tiring to keep repeating the same instructions again and again. Microsoft now allows you to define Copilot personalization rules for formatting, naming conventions, formulas, and report styles. These can be accessed via Settings > Personalization, where you can explain your rules in natural language like "Always format currency in USD with no decimals", and just let Copilot take care of the rest. Microsoft is going a step further in this direction by allowing you to set workbook rules too. These rules are stored as a .Rules sheet, and are preserved while the workbook is shared. This fosters collaboration while making sure that standard rules govern the Copilot editing experience across the organization. Other advantages of this capability include pointing it to specific examples, defining dynamic formulas, and referencing an entire sheet and asking Copilot to infer rules based on that. You can leverage this feature by opening Copilot in Excel, clicking on "+", and selecting Create workbook rules. If you have an existing .Rules sheet, you can simply start listing the rules in column A as well. Personalization features are available to all Copilot in Excel users across the web, Mac, and Windows. Meanwhile, workbook rules are currently being previewed for Windows and Mac customers on the Insiders channel. General availability is scheduled after a few weeks, but a concrete date is currently unknown. Overall, the Excel capability is quite similar to ChatGPT's memory features, which allow you to permanently store items in the AI model's context window.
    • Imagine you still haven't discovered Total Commander that is doing all those things for three decades already...
    • This sounds like underneath the nice marketing spin, either someone at Adobe got tired of their lazy devs and asked Microsoft to help them sort at least some of Adobe's ancestral spaghetti code to make it go faster, or Microsoft wanted Adobe's crap to run better on Windows to make it look better when compared to Apple, so they offered to intervene. Either way, GOOD.
    • My favorite file manager for Windows 11 finally gets a long-requested feature by Taras Buria Files is among the best File Explorer alternatives for Windows 10 and 11. This free app is packed with all sorts of features and conveniences, but there is one crucial feature that is still missing—Tree View. Fortunately, the latest update in the Preview channel finally delivers it. With version 4.1.4, which is now available for download in the Preview channel, developers implemented Tree View, a new mode that displays folders in an expandable hierarchy. Windows 11's stock File Explorer always had this feature, but it was nowhere to be found in Files until now. Starting with the latest preview update, you can expand each drive and its nested folders without leaving the current location and then open the folder you need in the main view. To try Tree View in Files, update the app to the latest preview version, then click the small arrow next to a drive to expand its content. The developers say they are rolling out Tree View in Preview first to gather feedback from users and improve the feature before bringing it to all in the stable channel. In addition to Tree View, Files 4.1.14 improves the Windows Fonts folder. You can now preview each font directly in Files with no need to open the built-in font viewer. For now, these two features are only available in the Preview channel. For those using the stable release, developers recently released version 4.1.3, with improvements for the built-in tag system, on-demand folder size calculation, and plenty of various fixes. You can check out the full release notes here. You can download Files from the Microsoft Store (paid version) or its official website (free).
