Do you guys remember Longhorn misunderstanding?

I don't like you because you refuse to release your individual mssyles as stand alone themes except for a few you put onto ThemeXP.org. Those are now full of adware, like adding insult to injury. You say you have no control over that but that is bull, you could take them off there and let someone else host them, but you won't. I take every opportunity I get to tell people I don't like you because of this and how you act when someone else releases a Longhorn theme of their own.

I'll leave it fine like before if everything is all right but it's not. I've lost my friend like Cin|Ful and someone else because of lame members who lied ppl on forum who don't know about story. Point of this thread is I want to ask them to stop it. I lost my friends, hopes, and reputation because of them.

I didn't refuse. Search for forum about pausing to release my work. I don't have time and some reason to pause releasing all my works. I planned to release an updated themes after Trans Pack but there're some problems like adware in themexp, account problems in deviantart, bandwidth problems, etc. I need to pause it and clear these mess before continue. Hope you'll understand what I want to say.

Well, I've not been registered long but I used to come here quite often to see what VS were hanging about and I was always seriously impressed with Windows X's work. I think his Longhorn themes are the best around and I think he likes to take credit for them, and rightly so. I just think Windows X likes his work to be his work, and for no-one else to borrow or rip anything from his styles. This is fair enough because he put in all the work and it's frustrating when people steal stuff of yours.

I think a few people treat him harshly, like they post in his threads (like his recent royaleaero thread) saying that they don't like his work. If you don't like his work then why post things like "it's botched, like all your other themes"? All it does is start major flaming sessions between people. Post with constructive criticism.

I have spoken to Windows X on a few occasions and he's been great, answered all of my dumb questions and helped me. He's a top bloke who is very talented.

Well sorry, but radish is absolutely right. You're almost always trying to scr*w up a thread when someone else makes a Longhorn theme with stupid comments or you just start a argument. It's not like you have the copyright for making Longhorn based themes. And you start a lot of pointless threads. I think there are like 5 threads you've started with the question what people like to see in a Longhorn theme. We need some fresh themers, when I take a look at your recent work I sometimes wonder what is has to do with Longhorn.

And aren't Longhorn themes pretty much a direct rip of Mircrosoft in the first place?

You still don't understand my problem. It's not about ripping Longhorn look from someone at all since I don't care much about silent ripping. Problem I don't want to have most is pretending rip from members. I don't have problem about rip but some members want to show ppl that I want to flame about ripping.

Please tell me which thread and which theme. I'll try to figure it out.

Well, I don't want to flame you WindowsX. You were the only person AFAIK that figured out how to make that Longhorn shellstyle.dll, with the common tasks on top. You deserve credit for that, and you have the right call it your own. But the the longhorn Msstyles, I think you should give up on calling those yours.

Let people use them, imitation is the greatest compliment.

That's why I need to talk. You think I want to own everything about Longhorn and that's not true. I'm always facing crisis when I want to post something in Longhorn thread. Though it's just a normal post but someone may dig it up for flame like past. I'll get depress if I want to say something about Longhorn theme because I'm afraid of post after me maybe flame. It used to be like this for ages and I think I can't hold it any longer.

For anime sitter, search in google with love hina window sitter and get it.

your themes are good... I'd even say real good, but don't get all depressed about issues that happen in a virtual environement, you almost sound like you are ready to pull the trigger.

your dealing with faceless people on the net on a constent basis... if I were you I would just think REEEAALLL hard about them while your sitting on the john... apart from that keep doing what you like and just ignore the flamers.

don't go fishing for whales with a hickory stick... you won't get far... all your doing is giving them ammo.

anyhow.

as for Neowin people, a little more support would be a warm welcome. I've seen too many flames in the past few months... some of them are really derogatory... I constently see "SNIPPED" all over the place.

there is good flames and then there are just wasted flames. how about we keep clean on here since we can't seem to keep it clean in the real world.

Do a search, there are at least 2 threads where I told you to back-off.

I know what "two" you mean.

one

Slate from Ortega. Firstly, I didn't meant to flame or say anything bad at all. I just want to post something like great work to cheer him up but I saw my shellstyle so I assumed he might use my Slate as based theme. But someone on there was trying to blame me. I explained him and it's over. After then, someone digged it up and start flaming me from lame story they made. This is insane.

two

Aero Glass from Corp, same as first one. Let me explain the situation.

1. Corp asked me to make black Aero VS. I told him I'll make one for him on few days later.

2. I gave him my new Slate for personal use as black theme before giving black Aero.

3. Tomorrow, I saw his thread and shot. I was shocked about his work. He use my new Slate to mod captionbar but ppl don't know that's modded from my new Slate.

4. I come to explain that is modded Slate 6.0 I gave him and then it happened like Ortega's case.

5. I don't have any problem with Corp at all. He feel so sorry even now about leaking it without asking me and I told him it's all right.

Is there any other theme you want to tell me?

I dunno why people thought so great of your themes when i distributed them, on accident, not knowingly, but they are all very well done. I'm sorry for what I have done, and if I caused more mishap.

// Lou

That's fine. I never think that serious at all since you didn't meant to do wit hbad purpose. Don't make yourself down.

I've always enjoyed your themes, but it seriously sucks that you won't turn everything into msstyles. I won't touch anything unless it's an msstyle, but that's just me. I don't want to have to install a 3rd party program just to use your material. This whole spat of posting your themes on themexp.org blows too...I don't want all of their spyware/adware crap just for your products...

Thank you. It's just a world we can't reach it anyway... :D

I need to pause it and clear these mess before continue.

You could clear a lot of this mess up by putting all of you work together on the same host(NOT ThemeXP), with screenshots and download links, so everyone can clearly see what you consider yours and enjoy you work. Put an email with it so if someone wants to use your work as a base, they can easily contact you to ask permission. Seems to me that you really need a new host.

Ummm..... Please read my earlier posts. you can use /X to extract only zip file or open it with WinZip or something to prevent adware.

I think I'll submit it to deviantart.com Shot may not neccessary since ppl can see it in site already.

so, im assuming you want me to reply to this since you have pm'd me a bunch...and mentioned me twice already

you simply lost my respect, not my friendship....though it is hard to talk to you

But let me tell you this...this was YOUR fault. DO NOT put the blame on others!

When you and I first started talking, I never heard you call people 'n00bs', you never complained about how people mistreated you, and i never had to read your bulls*it

but now...as many people have already stated, you pretty much flood 99% of all Longhorn topics in the VS section, just take a look at your posts. Yes, we realize this is your main work, and yes it is good stuff, but its the arrogance and the way you speak down to practically everyone. I was honestly suprised how you handled the original post i wrote last night...i guess getting a hit in the face is a good thing though...especially for you

Another thing that I do agree with, is the way you handle your themes now. Before, you would release the themes individually without LTP, but now that's all you do. You tell people you will release them later, but yet you decide to make a new version of LTP and "forget" to release them. I personally dont like LTP anymore, i like to just play with themes. There are far too many themers out there and far too many good themes for me to install a whole transformation pack just because I want ONE theme. I'll just pass...

Also, how about going away from the longhorn themes? Maybe in a few months you can come back and do something if new builds leak with new themes, but this Aero crap is getting old. How many variations can you make of this stuff? How about designed some BRAND new themes, starting over, and gaining the respect of all the nW members again? Or, is this too much to ask?

I'm sorry, but you have just p***ed off too many people, unless you straighten up, settle down, stay off the 'noob' and flaming crap, and just stick to making awesome themes, you and I can be fine again...but as of now, I'm going to be ignoring you a lot more. If this makes you sad, then all I can honestly say is....Deal with it, and re-evaluate this situation better.

W-X: Read this a few times, think about it, IM me whatever you want on MSN, but seriously....just think about all of what I have said.

Edit: also, yes, DeviantART sounds like an awesome idea, just stay away from themexp.org altogether...its a terrible site, and you of all people should know, they DON'T respect the themers....

Edited by Meshuggah

Yeah, I do hate how i can't download the themes seperately. Plus all the Longhorn Transformation Pack links are always ending up dead.. The /x extraction does work, but to download that huge of a file for a few themes is kind of absurd, especially for the low speed users.. Deviantart is a great site, much better than themexp, if you could post your themes there seperately that'd be great.

I still think you're a great themer, and a good person. Though I do have to agree that you *do* tend to overboard things a bit. But I can see why you would. Also another thing you really should start some new themes from scratch, I thought that was a good idea, I'd love to see some completely original creations by you. Also, I'd love to give you some ideas if you decide to do this ;)

Google has some bad news for those still using MV2-based extensions in Chromium-based browsers, particularly Chrome. The company is now removing flags responsible for Manifest V2-based extensions (uBlock Origin is one of the most popular). However, some browsers resist this change, and Opera issued a statement that it will allow users to continue using MV2 extensions for as long as possible. While Microsoft is still not ready to share new details about MV2 extensions in Microsoft Edge, the company shared important details about the way it will be updating the browser going forward. Now, Microsoft wants to update Edge every two weeks across all platforms instead of the current four-week schedule (only the Extended Stable is exempt from this change). This week, Microsoft confirmed a useful new Teams feature that is coming to the messenger soon. It also detailed all the improvements that made the platform better for users in 2026. There is also nice build quality and a quite affordable price. Pulasthi Ariyasinghe reviewed 007 First Light. The game turned out to be a satisfying spy adventure in the James Bond universe with great gunplay and combat, impressive crowds, over-the-top action sequences, and more. • Microsoft Flight Simulator's City Update 15 enhances Midwest cities by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The third major city update of the year has landed for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator and the 2024 release. The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine. The update lands just as one of the world's largest enthusiast flight simulation conventions, FlightSimExpo, kicks off in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 14. The Flight Sim development team's 40-minute keynote at the event can be watched here. At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the 6-seat, single-engine, multi-use light civil airplane Piper M600 into the game as a part of its Expert Series 2 program. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $24.99. City Update 15: The United States Midwest is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as the newer Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as an optional download. It can be accessed across Steam and the Microsoft Store for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions. Xbox One, mobile, and PC players can also jump into the new content using Xbox Cloud Gaming if they have a Game Pass Ultimate membership. The game must be updated to the latest version to download this free update from the in-game marketplace.
    • Five things you might have missed during Apple's WWDC 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Image: Apple Apple's annual developer event, WWDC 2026, happened from June 8 through June 12. We have already covered several new features and updates that the iPhone maker unveiled during the official keynote. Apple took Google's help and finally announced the upgraded Siri AI personal assistant, which now comes with an app. Moreover, a truckload of Apple Intelligence features took the center stage. That said, this year's WWDC is a bit different, and you might have noticed or missed the following stuff: Apple's ongoing unification of platforms Image: Apple One thing Apple is widely known for is its seamless hardware-software ecosystem. The company added a new chapter in 2020, when it began the Apple Silicon transition and launched macOS 11 Big Sur with native ARM support. Some major changes happened last year as well, when Apple renamed all of its operating systems to version 26 and introduced the Liquid Glass design language. Until WWDC 2025, Apple keynotes had dedicated segments for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other operating systems, in which the company discussed each in detail. The WWDC 2026 keynote was different, and Apple allotted most of the screen time to Apple Intelligence and Siri. It didn't even publish separate press releases on its website for different operating systems. While it might seem surprising at first, it shows how Apple plans to move forward with its software ecosystem. Be it the Liquid Glass changes, child safety updates, or other features, they are mostly rolling out across multiple platforms. In other words, Apple is slowly blurring the line between its operating systems and achieving feature parity wherever possible. It's easy to rule out that someone in Apple's marketing team forgot to press the publish button. Everything is a calculated move when it comes to a company like Apple. Putting Apple Intelligence left, right, and center hints that the OS itself is no longer the product anymore. It's Siri, not Pepsi Time and again, various Apple products have been compared to unrelated things and turned into meme material. You might have heard about the "cheese grater" Mac Pro or the "trash can" Mac Pro, to name a few. It's Siri's turn this time. The upgraded AI assistant got a fresh logo, and people have started comparing it with Pepsi. There are other contenders, such as the Sony Ericsson logo and the Yin and Yang symbol. Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac Image: Apple Apple has been putting the iPhone's camera muscles to the test on various occasions. Even NASA astronauts took it to Space earlier this year and captured some out-of-this-world photos. Recently, Apple TV streamed the first major live sporting event shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro: an MLS match featuring the LA Galaxy vs. the Houston Dynamo FC. The 'Pro' iPhone has also been used to shoot Apple events in recent years. It's "Scary Fast" Mac event in 2023 was among the earliest attempts, and the tradition trickled down to the WWDC 2026 keynote, which ended with the tag line "Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac." It's unsurprising to see Apple flexing the camera capabilities of its Pro models, especially when it has been baking professional-grade features, including ProRes RAW and Genlock. Hints for the foldable Apple has been sitting on the foldable iPhone for so long. There is still confusion over when the company will make it official. A recent report said that the iPhone Fold might get delayed as Apple is struggling to perfect its hinge mechanism. But Apple has been dropping hints here and there. A developer dug into the iOS 27 beta code and found internal references about device folding states. As verified by Macworld, the code includes references to "foldState" and "angleDegrees" internal status values, which are apparently designed to tell apps if a device is folded and at what angle. As of now, no other Apple device uses these states. The publication also found internal code suggesting Apple has been testing a device with both Touch ID and Dynamic Island, a combo that doesn't exist today. Last event as Apple CEO Image: Apple Tim Cook's bond with Apple is now almost three decades old, having started in 1998 as the SVP of Worldwide Operations. Back in August 2011, Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple CEO months before his passing, and Cook took charge. Now, the baton has been passed to the hardware chief, John Ternus, who will take over the role on September 1. WWDC 2026 is the last major Apple Event for Tim Cook as CEO. We have seen so much during Cook's tenure over the years, much of which defines Apple as we know it today. From new hardware product lines like Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Silicon, to boosting Apple's services business with Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Pay, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple Care One, and more. That said, the first developer betas for Apple's latest operating systems are now available. You can check if your device is supported on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, and other platforms. What's your favorite feature that Apple announced this year at WWDC 2026? Tell us in the comments.
