Do you guys remember Longhorn misunderstanding?

Recommended Posts

you guys do realise you are talking to a retarded 14 year old who doesnt speak english dont you? he only picks out key words and then starts talking..

you realize not everyone in the world speaks english perfectly right? i mean, being so smart and intelligent, you should know that. besides, your english isn't all that either.

on a sidenote, are you looking for an argument or something? i think the flamewar here ended ten or so post before yours.

he's not retarded, hes THAI (not american), and hes not 14...

Csabo, yes we know where you stand...now just stay off this topic

Yeah, I do hate how i can't download the themes seperately. Plus all the Longhorn Transformation Pack links are always ending up dead.. The /x extraction does work, but to download that huge of a file for a few themes is kind of absurd, especially for the low speed users.. Deviantart is a great site, much better than themexp, if you could post your themes there seperately that'd be great.

I still think you're a great themer, and a good person. Though I do have to agree that you *do* tend to overboard things a bit. But I can see why you would. Also another thing you really should start some new themes from scratch, I thought that was a good idea, I'd love to see some completely original creations by you. Also, I'd love to give you some ideas if you decide to do this ;)

Because of some problems I've mentioned. I can't release them right now. btw, I won't call myself themer. I'm just Longhorn lover who'll make stuffs about things he like.

Yes, he sure start talking something about my post like flaming all time. Guys like him has messed my life for problems I've said. He's always posted cruel and rude post after me.

Ok first of all, you remarking that his english isnt perfect, lets analize what you just said

"You guys realise", if im not wrong, its realize.

"14 years old who doesnt speak english", hmm... doesnt... *looks for a dictionary*

"Pick out key words", i think in that context keyword isnt separated...

Ok now... if hes 14 or not isnt a real deal... he knows enough to be more than 14..., and age "doesnt" really matter, heh

Now back in the topic :)

WindowsX: Like someone said, some people just dont have respect for the peoples work around here... most of them do, but you will always find an ######, and you will have to deal with them..., even if your themes sucks or not, they are a work that must be valorated in each aspect, im not a fan of longhorn (as ive readed, youre), but ive tried your themes more than once and they really really nice :), congrats and keep up the work!!!

by the way..

it's spelled both realise and realize.. slightly different meanings

doesn't is a contraction of does not, he just forgot the "'"..

see: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=doesn't

key words would do, as it's basically the same thing.

see: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=keywords

my reference to his english skills was towards the "do" and "don't" in the same sentence.. forgetting the "'" in doesn't.. "and then starts talking" should be "and then proceeds to talk"

that is, if you are a major english buff. he also doesn't know the meaning of commas.

but nice try :p

oh by the way "its" should be "it's" ... your mistake.

i think i know you from somewhere..do you play counter-strike? someone i played with before uses your same alias.

I think behavior is more important than English skill. You want to talk to weak English person more than bad behavior person, don't you? scabo2 behaves himself bad to blame someone (me) as a flame so he deserves (I don't think we all like that post)

Dammit, stfu. If you can understand someone, **** how good or bad their English is, that's all that matters. Yes, Windows X's Engrish can be annoying to read sometimes, but he's got a good excuse, so just bear with it. He tries, and generally he's underatandable, so that's good enough. Knowing how to order things to attain proper grammer or every specific situation to use a comma isn't what makes you someone to listen to, it's being someone with good points and developed opinions. **** grammar nazis.

Sorry but this forum is English-based. If you don't speak it or can't communicate yourself in a respectful manner, git da fuk out. If English isn't commonly used in Thailand and he's more comfortable with typing in Thai, then go for it. I'm sure Neowin isn't the only windows customizing forum.

On another note, I think Windows X's petty 5 minutes of "fame" on a customizing forum is just lame. All too often, I see new posts from him about some "new" Longhorn theme. All I see is the same damn ugly theme that seems to be recycled and regurgitated over and over again. More annoying are about him accusing others of copying him. Or how he's going to be too busy to work on stuff. I mean seriously, how frickin self-absorbed are you?

All I gotta say is:... nobody cares.

What is the point of this thread anyway?

Pretty much what i have seen is you see yourself as a theme master, but all you do is modify ms themes, luna and longhorn. But the main thing that catches my eye is that when someone else tries to mkae a theme you point out "similar" stuff that is from your theme, yet yours is from ms. Im sure your a nice guy and all but why is this in Customizing Windows XP, and its the internet for gods sake get over not having a few internet forum buddies. Maybe create your own graphics and some different looking theme other than longhorn or luna or any of that, for example look at b0se's themes, there great and he didnt mod any ms theme. One last thing, it seems you dont like people to critque (sp?) your work, you come up with some mumbo jumbo arguement when people are just trying to help.

Just my 2cents and you asked for it... :ninja:

Then give him some time! We welcome not only English speakers here, but people who also speak Spainish, Portuguese, Chinese (I do speak Chinese), Japanese, French, Tamil, Korean, Italian, Latin and even Klingon. Give them some time to adjust first. And Windows X, you should quit being a showoff, as I don't really like showoffs.

Lude, why the **** does it matter how well he can speak English as long as he can get his point across? This a computer forum, not scholarly discussions for those highly inclined in the study of the english language. There may be Thai PC customization sites, but maybe he just likes this place better. Obviously he can communicate with us so there shouldn't be any issue with his language skills.

Reason I have beef with WindowsX:

Anyone posts a Longhorn syled theme, and he says "Looks like my graphics" "nice style, similar to mine" "MSSTYLES a lot lile my release"...

STFU! They are like MS themes, which you rip off too. So big deal. You didn't invent Longhorn and are not the only source for Longhorn graphics.

Simple as. Oh and cos I don't like his themes - personal taste but Longhorn Inspirat is my fave.

    • As I've been usually saying lately - we all can thank "AI" for this.
    • Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. My Windows11 device on the Preview Channel just got 26220.8728. My guess is this build is a nightly update from 26220.8690.
    • Traffic has a surprisingly unexpected impact on your surroundings by Sayan Sen Image by Radik 2707 via Pexels A collaborative study by researchers from several Israeli institutions found that everyday pollution from traffic and industrial activity measurably changed the atmospheric electric field over the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, providing new evidence of how human activity can influence the lower atmosphere. The research was led by Dr. Roy Yaniv of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Gertner Institute at Sheba Medical Center, Dr. Assaf Hochman of the Fredy & Nadine Herrmann Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University, and Prof. Yoav Yair of Reichman University. The study also involved Itay Froomer, a student from Hadera High School and the Israeli Museum of Medicine and Science (Technoda), who carried out the work as part of the Ministry of Education's 5-unit physics research track. The researchers focused on the atmospheric electric field under fair-weather conditions. Even in the absence of storms, a weak electric field naturally exists between Earth's surface and the atmosphere. One of the main ways scientists measure this field is through the Potential Gradient (PG), which is the inverse of the vertical component of the electric field. PG is a key part of the global electric circuit, a planet-wide system of electrical currents maintained by thunderstorms and electrified clouds around the world. Scientists have long known that the atmospheric electric field can be influenced by factors ranging from large-scale atmospheric processes to local weather conditions such as dust, fog and clouds. Human-made pollution is also known to play a role, but understanding exactly how urban emissions affect the electric field close to the ground has remained an area of ongoing research. To investigate this relationship, the team analyzed measurements from a newly installed electric field mill, an instrument used to continuously monitor the strength of the atmospheric electric field. The instrument was installed at the Center for Technological Education (Roter House) in Holon and became operational in August 2024. It was funded by Israel's Ministry of Education and the Holon municipality. The electric field mill forms part of a broader monitoring network that includes nearby meteorological stations and air-quality monitoring sites. This allowed researchers to compare electric field measurements with detailed weather data and pollution records to better understand what was driving changes in the Potential Gradient. The study focused on two major urban pollutants: fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), both commonly produced by vehicle traffic and industrial activity. PM2.5 refers to microscopic airborne particles small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere for extended periods, while NOx is a group of gases released during fuel combustion. Researchers examined daily, weekly and seasonal patterns in the atmospheric electric field and compared them with changes in pollutant concentrations. Their analysis revealed a clear relationship between NOx levels and changes in the Potential Gradient, particularly during morning and evening rush hours when traffic emissions were at their highest. “What we observe is a direct physical link between emission peaks and electrical variability,” explained Dr. Roy Yaniv. “NOx reduces atmospheric conductivity very quickly, so the electric field responds almost instantaneously during traffic rush hours.” Atmospheric conductivity describes how easily electrical charges move through the air. According to the researchers, nitrogen oxides rapidly alter this conductivity, causing a near-immediate response in the electric field. PM2.5, however, was associated with a delayed response. The researchers attributed this difference to the particles' longer atmospheric residence time, meaning they remain in the atmosphere for longer periods, as well as their different microphysical interactions with surrounding air and atmospheric components. The study also identified a pronounced "weekend effect." In Israel, traffic volumes and some industrial activity decline significantly on Fridays and Saturdays. During these periods, concentrations of both NOx and PM2.5 dropped, and corresponding changes were observed in the atmospheric electric field. “The weekend signal demonstrates just how sensitive the electric field is to changes in human activity,” the researchers noted. “When emissions decline, the electrical environment adjusts at once, providing a high-resolution indicator of urban atmospheric conditions.” The findings showed that pollution levels can influence not only the chemical composition of the atmosphere but also its electrical properties. Researchers said the results strengthened the case for using atmospheric electricity as an additional tool for environmental monitoring, particularly in densely populated urban areas where anthropogenic, or human-caused, influences are most pronounced. The study also pointed to potential public health applications. By combining air-quality measurements with observations of atmospheric electricity, researchers said they could gain a more complete picture of how urban atmospheric conditions change over time. “Integrating air-quality data with electric-field measurements gives us a clearer picture of how the lower atmosphere evolves moment by moment,” the researchers added. “It’s a framework that can support both scientific insight and practical environmental decision-making.” Beyond the scientific findings, the project highlighted a collaboration between universities, public institutions and secondary education. Researchers said the work demonstrated how students could take part in real-world environmental research while contributing to studies of air quality, atmospheric processes and their potential effects on society. • We aren't even at the all-star game and Microsoft is talking about an update that will most likely be released during the World Series if not after. A lot can happen in the world between now and the 2026 World Series, including the 2026 FIFA Cup. Tell me about it again after the FIFA Cup is concluded. That should allow plenty of time to prepare for it.
