Yeah I know thats a bad feature about Avtive Desktops the only way around that really is too Make the Icons in bmps then turn the bmps into links using a java script, well thats what Idid with my Whistler Professional Desktop.

Ill see what I can do for you because I often forget that other people use Icons on there desktop, I dont so that problem doesnt affect me, and the desktop goes so well with the Visual Style, well it was built to do that, so id hate to see eitherone goto waste over some Icons, so ill see what I can do about easing that problem.

:o :ermm: This vs has those elements I like, but presents them in a much more attractive package, with some nice additions like the Visual Studio .NET blobs (couldn't think of what else to call them).

Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the completed vs. Oh and that Active Desktop is well done as well, just not my tastes (I use a plain desktop with no icons or wallpapers) :D.

Thanks for the comments mate, very appreciated.

Yes there were pleasent elements I liked about Luna and they show up in the style but I feel it blends in adminently.

lol okay so my desktop is sorta the opposite to yours, wallpaper, interactivity etc. But yes it does seem to go well.

Anyway people im off to bed, so I can rise and do some more work on the style, desktop and various other project before I goto work, the one where they pay me to work, until then goodnight all.

that would be cool man

tbh the theme looks cool enuff to go iconless, and on my home machine the only icon have is the recycle bin (Im a quik launch fan), and i would go without it for ur theme if i had to :D - anyway the theme looks really nice... - btw does the active desktop botch up the look of all ur icons - or just the ones on ur desktop?

keep up the good work man :)

The problem with the Active Desktop is that it removes the drop shadow (if you had it enabled) from the desktop icons, and shows the icon label background just like in all previous versions of Windows. The icons generally do not actually get "botched up" or anything, it's just that you get stuck with the ugly icon label background.

The funny part of this is that Microsoft could have fixed this problem, and in fact they could have implemented transparent icon label backgrounds way back in Windows 95. Oh well :ermm:

Sorry guys ill release some more pics tonight im in the middle of formatting the comp I work on, and then ive gotta go to work, but ill try and release some more pics later tonight.

Bloody winamp3 and Sonique 2 they dodged up my whole Audio setup, thus resulting ina big clean up and format.

Typical MS approcah to things hey, they could have implemented alot of features but just choose not too, and when ya need them there not there.

sorry for the delays everyone I sorta got caught up in another project I had undertaken. Theres a few more lil adjustments I want to make or add I should say before I release any more pics. im pretty sure I should get it done while im still on tonight so ill go get the whip cracking and see what I can come up with.

Thanks all for being so patient.

hrmm indeed I could do that. It depends im in a bit of a bind at the momment, see I dont know weather to go further with the style or not, because I think it goes well witht he Desktop and everything already which was my goal.

Now in my experience themes tend to go downhill when they go all the way, such as Longhorn and alot of the .NET Themes did.

Where as look at Watercolor very popular because its clean clear cut. YOu know what I mean?

Eitherway A Grey yeah that might be a nice idea, might even make another desktop to go with it. maybe the blue will go with the greya nyway. But yes

Ill go post another shot and see what happens I guess.

If you think it is working well then I would say leave it alone and make it public. I mean we can look at it or we can use it, the latter I think will get you the best responses as to what might need to be changed or fixed or whatever. I for one am looking forward to seeing what you have done since the last screenshot.

Well hes the link to another Preview Pic

THis one showcases the shellstyle and the window etc.

copy and paste this link into a new Broswer Window.

Not too sure about the layout of the common tasks area on the left of the folder window - the simplicity of it looks ... unfinished ... to me - I would prefer the collapsible title bars to be a bolder colour - perhaps the yellow/gold you are using and the arrows to be more ... "defined" - :ermm:

Other than that this could the the theme that finally swings me from my longtime love afair with watercolour - thanks Binary - which I have been using since it was first available -

So, Osiris, when can we hope to see a pre-release of this? I am clamouring for it - :s

Wallpaper - will the wallpaper be suitable for larger resolutions - across my 4 machines, I have the following:

1024 x 768

1280 x 1024

1600 x 1200 (my main machine)

and would be gutted if the wallpaper didn't look great across all those - :s

Just my thoughts - which you can take on board or discard as you like

well find me a place to host it and ill upload it.

im still waiting for a email back from themeXP

And yes ive been thinking the shellstyle could do with a bit of work. Well while im waiting to hear back from themeXP or finding a place to upload it too, ill go do some more work on it.

Well I can do a desktop in 1080*768 and Its already in 1280 but 1600 I cant do sorry bit hard to get everything right with 1600 when my max display is 1280.

    • Less powerful than a PS5 at twice the price! I wonder if they use that for marketing? Totally DoA.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
