Come on guys don't flame KoL, he purely released something he was working on. He didn't have to share it, but thought that some people would appreciate it.

Whether you love or hate Longhorn - thats not the point: this was a personal port which he decided to release.

I agree with you. Longhorn looks suck. If I was MS' fanboy, I'll make exactly port to be like MS. But at least it's combination between Windows and Mac and it's the future of Windows. I've tried to improve crappy design and remove glitches in resources to improve its quality. I like Plex because it's blue (my favourite color) and I've been working so long about year with it before Slate comes (about 13-15 releases for one theme with long changelog). I'm happy with it but at time Slate was released, I refused ppl who requested me to make Slate and tell them someone will make it in no time. I waited about one day but no one. I hate Slate as much as I hate tomato. To come and think of it again, I decided to make Slate port due to purpose I think I have to. I released unofficial one first as original and release it again with Mistic mod. I made exactly mod for 1.0 and no more for accurately work. So I think I'll try making better Slate in the next release. To conclude this, I wanna make Longhorn looks better from **** to something I can accept to use. That's what I meant to do for Longhorn.

Since when is the thread suddenly about you?

I thought this was KoL's Longhorn thread......

Perhaps he loves KoL's work and respect him too much. Unfortunately, he hates Longhorn looks.

Just because Kol is a good themer does not give him the right to release this atrocious beast.

KoL can release whatever the f*ck he wants. I don't like the Longhorn look but a lot of people do, and that's who he made it for. If you don't like it, don't use it. Don't come in here flaming him for releasing something that clearly has a audience just because you don't like it.

I don't think it's possible.

Oh well.. its not that big of a problem. I didn't even notice it until someone mentioned it here and posted a screenshot of it.

Why oh why did I see those screenshots..

How do you remove the lines in FireFox? :dontgetit:

probably use a dark firefox theme..

Oh and KoL, I've been waiting for this theme since I saw your other post. It looked so great.. However, the theme looks much better in your screenshots than on my computer ;)

No offense, great work and great port. I've just been slowly moving away from Longhorn look since Royale look, but these themes are great.

I showed my sister the Jade colour scheme in this Windows Theme, but she said that a pink start menu that flows with the rest of the colour scheme will make it look better. Can you set about doing a start menu mod for the Jade colour scheme so that it will match with the rest of the theme?

- LoL -

God almighty ... No wonder KoL has very little to do with this forum. :s

I third that. KoL will you make one??:DD

would have to make it a 4th one....I know its a direct port, but if it was thinner, it would be completely awesome...I would have to switch to a new theme (this previous one lasted me almost 3 months):

edit: i cant comprehend my own sentences right now, so i dont know if these make sense at all...too much buddha

I don't know... knowing this is coming from KoL kinda made me expect something more... not sure what, but something that had his creative touch. Don't get me wrong, it all looks generally better than the other Longhorn themes out there... but, well, it still looks like the rest of the Longhorn themes out there for the most part. Which is to say, not anywhere near as nice as everything else KoL has done (and I'm not counting the ports).

Anyhow, it's a nice effort and probably works for what it was intended to be... a thumbs up for that. Keep up the all-around good work.

Edit:

Just so no one misunderstands, I'm not griping about the theme(s) or asking for them to be redone or anything else of the sort. Just offering an opinion to go along with all the "it's wonderful and I want it to have my first born" posts. I'm not knocking KoL's abilities (it'd be hard to do that with his back-log of work), nor am I taking anything away from what this theme is... something KoL wanted and set about doing, something that a lot of people seem to like.

    • Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. In addition to enabling new spatial AI experiences, these new AI capabilities will improve head and hand tracking, as well as see-through features. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.
    • Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.

    • Hello, I have used a few TEAM Group SSDs, USB flash drives, and Micro SDXC cards in the past. They all seemed to work fine. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
