K3b problems.

Recommended Posts

Yo. I installed k3b with swaret and I'm having some problems. When I load it as a user I get this message:

cdrecord does not run with root privileges
It is highly recommended to configure cdrecord to run with root privileges. Only then cdrecord runs with high priority which increases the overall stability of the burning process. Apart from that it allows changing the size of the used burning buffer. A lot of user problems could be solved this way. This is also true when using SuSE's resmgr.
Solution: Use K3bSetup to solve this problem.
cdrdao does not run with root privileges
It is highly recommended to configure cdrdao to run with root privileges to increase the overall stability of the burning process.
Solution: Use K3bSetup to solve this problem.

When I go to start K3bSetup2 from that dialog, it just says "Unable to start K3bSetup2". Now if I close that dialog and go into the settings menu and start K3b Setup, I get this message: "Could not find kdesu to run K3bSetup with root privileges. Please run it manually as root."

The console outputs this message also: "ERROR: (K3bSongManager) Can't open file /home/kenji/.kde/share/apps/k3b/songlist.xml".

When I load k3b as root, the error message in the begining isnt there anymore. But I still cant access Keb Setup from the settings menu (get the same message). I also tryed to burn a cd as root, and I get a message that there was an error with cdrecord.

I tryed to give as much info as possible, maybe this has happened to someone else?

Thanks.

/opt/kde/bin/k3bsetup: line 20: kdesu: command not found

Actually. K3b is installed in a very odd place. I think this problem might have to do with the k3b package that I installed. I'm about to seriously give up and find another cd burner.
