It sounds like you're getting a BSOD on running Nero 6.

You could try disabling the Automatically Restart option and then digging up on whatever information is presented by the BSOD. Or alternatively, go into Event Viewer and take a look at what exactly is causing these restarts.

MY ASPI drivers are the latest available and i have tried alternatives, as there are many out there. i have uninstall everything that that does packet writing as well. and i get the same thing.

i haven't gone back to 5.5 cause i am a little hesitant because i paid a lot for this nero 6 ultra edition. i would like to figure out this issue cause if not that many people are having issues with nero 6 it is obiously a working program. i guess i am just frustrated

thanks

I don't blame you for feeling bad. I sure did, but dropping back to v5 was the only thing I could figure out to do. I was using the DEMO 6.x and have tested each one as it has been updated. 5.5 is the only one that is stable enough for me.

Good luck.

Have you tried stepping down to 5.5?

  • 0
ok so updating my chipset drives didn't help, but the solution that kirklander suggest did.

going back to 5.5. It will be a temp solution untill nero corrects this for me or gives my money back.

iBAWLS

So 5.5 does the job without problem for you? If so, at least you have a working solution... (Y)

for all those following this thread i wanna say i fixed it. I basically went on a driver and software update spree.

Updated Intel application accelerator for raid

updated intel chipset software

Flashed BIOS to Asus 1016

Updated nero to the latest SP2 compatible one

now it works :D (well im burning a dvd now and it didnt reboot when i hit 'burn')

Snitch I am glad you found a solution, i followed that same procedure for my pc by updateing the drivers and firmware, to no avail. the only solutions that worked for me is to roll back to 5.5. but i thinkg mine is a different issue as my BSOD come at just trying to start burning rom 6, not when hitting the burn button, so i dont knowi am still trying to work for a solution, and i will post one if i find one.

I was having the exact same problem as you with nero 6. Nero 6 had worked fine before I reformated my computer, even with SP2. It stopped working after the reformat. Smartstart would work, but when actually starting a program within Smartstart, the computer would just restart. I turned off automatic restart and got the BSOD with BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x00000019 you mentioned. . .

After reading other posts on this forum, I did some experimenting with motherboard drivers. I have an Intel D875PBZ motherboard and 2 hard drives in RAID 0 configuration. I fixed the problem by installing Intel's Application Accelerator RAID Edition. I had this installed previously but forgot to reinstall it this time. This program can be found here:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df..._nm=iaar353*enu

The filename is iaar353_enu.exe. Only use this update with the Intel 875 chipset. Even if this isn't your motherboard, the problem definitely seems to be a conflict between Nero and either the motherboard, or RAID Hard drives. There may be a similar update for other motherboards. This solved my problem, hope it helps you or anyone else having the problem.

I had the same exact problem as the rest of you. It seems to be a problem with Raid 0. I have two raptors in Raid 0. I did what mpotter said and its fixed now.

I would open up Nero StartSmart but as soon as I chose an option like Burn Image my computer would restart with a Bad_Pool_Header Blue Screen of Death. I had the latest version of intel's raid accelerator but It most likly wasn't working correctly because of how I had to install on my Raid 0 array. Because XP install would take the drivers off my floppy for my Raid, I had to install XP on a regular HD, then setup the raid with the accelerator program from intel so I could see the Raid 0 array in windows, I then had to use Norton Ghost to make to copy my entire C: drive operating system to the formatted raid 0 array. I then used partition magic to switch the raid 0 array Drive letter to C:. On reboot it booted from the Array and I then formatted the regular hard drive as extra storage space. I have a feeling that some time in that whole process something corrupted in the Raid Accelerator Program, and it just needed to be reinstalled.

My Problem is fixed, thank you mpotter.

    • I totally disagree. Very little good comes out of governments all around the world manipulating everything they can and usually the people are not the benefactors. What you say about being restricted and expensive sounds almost like the arguments against firearms and why banning them will protect people as if making something illegal somehow will prevent the criminals from having and using them. AI being far less mainstream could simply mean the average person will not benefit, but "big brother" and the corporations will benefit, which is almost for sure NOT a good thing.
